"Okay so what exactly is the plan though? I mean what should we do next? Things have been getting tense between them but I feel like they're not really realizing that they're not right for each other, you know?" I said, sitting on his bed. "Like they're still annoyed with each other about the cheating issues and their fight two nights ago, do we keep going with that?" Gene nodded, leaning back against the pillows. "Hmm, I'm not sure. Maybe set up a date with conflicting times so they end up missing their connection?" "Yeah, that could work," I said absentmindedly, staring at him as he folded his arms behind his head. His shirt stretched a little tighter around his chest, hugging him nicely.

He saw me staring and smirked. "What, want me to take it off so you can get a better look?" he teased. I shrugged, returning his smirk. "Why not?" I retorted. With a wink, he stripped off his shirt, and I felt my heart skip. "Damn, very nice," I said after a pause. He pushed himself a bit more upright, reaching out and lifting my face toward his with his thumb. "Alright Fox, your turn now," he purred, giving me another wink. Grinning, I peeled off my own shirt, and he smiled, running his hand up my cheek and twisting it through my hair. "Damn, you really are foxy," he murmured.

"You're pretty fiery yourself," I replied with a grin. Eyes twinkling, he leaned forward and kissed me. His lips were nice against my own and I kissed him back, wrapping my hands around his shoulders and feeling my heart quickening. Our kissing started to get a bit more passionate, him slipping his long tongue into my mouth as I started to climb on top of him. I pushed him back to the pillows, straddling him, and it didn't take long for us to start going further, ending up together beneath the covers in no time.

A soft beam of sunlight caressed my face the next morning, reluctantly pulling me out of a warm sleep. I sat up, stretching with a yawn as Gene's arm slid off my chest. "Mmm! I'm hungry," I said to myself, stretching again. "What's that?" Gene mumbled. "I said I'm hungry," I repeated, sliding out of bed with a wince and digging through the pile of clothes on the floor, trying to figure out what belonged to me and what didn't. "Hey Gene! Still awake?" I called. "Mhmm. Whasup?" he muttered, nesting deeper into the pillows and still not really awake at all. "I can't find my shirt but I'm starving and I wanna head downstairs for the free hotel breakfast," I said.

"You're too famous for that, get room service," he said, keeping his eyes closed and sinking deeper under the covers. "But I like meeting fans! If anyone recognizes me it's always fun to talk to them and sign a couple autographs and stuff!" I protested. "Seriously, where's my shirt?" "Uh, lemme see," he said, sitting up with a huge yawn and fumbling through the blankets before chucking my t-shirt at me. "There you go," he said, lying back down. "Wait that's just the crop top, where's the undershirt?" "Hell if I know. Gotta be in the room somewhere," he said, closing his eyes again.

"Anyone ever tell you you're useless?" I teased, pulling on my boxers and trying to tug on my pants while still sitting on the floor. "All the time," he murmured. Finally, I found my other shirt, throwing them both on and running a brush through my hair. "Alright I'm going to get breakfast, you want me to bring you up anything once I'm done?" "Sure. Don't care what though, just surprise me." "Sounds good. We should uh...also probably talk about last night when I'm back." "Yeah. We probably should," he said quietly.

There was a long pause before I stretched again. "Right! Well, I'll see you then. Enjoy your sleep." "Will do," he said, giving me a lazy thumbs up before pulling the blankets over himself.

He was fully awake and fully dressed by the time I got back, with the bed already made. "So. What're you feeling?" he asked. I frowned, running a hand through my hair and setting the plate with his breakfast on the bedside table. "Well...I'm gonna be honest, nothing really. Last night was fun and you're a really good friend, but I think...last night was kind of a one-time thing. I don't think I love you like that, you know?" He gave me a grin. "Yeah, I know, because I feel the same. I mean the way I see it, if things develop between us, like more feelings and stuff, I'm down for that. But right now? I think we're just friends."

"Yeah, sounds like a plan! I mean I did enjoy last night though," I teased. He gave me a smug grin. "Hey, I've got the reputation I have for a reason. So what'd you bring me for breakfast?" he asked. "Mm no, no breakfast for you until we come up with a plan." "What?! You got to eat before we came up with a plan!" he protested. I shrugged, folding my arms across my chest. "I said what I said! No breakfast for you until we come up with a plan!" Raising an eyebrow, he walked over, scooping me up in his arms and throwing me onto the bed with a laugh before picking up the plate.

"No! That's cheating! That's not fair, you're way bigger than me!" I cried. He flipped me off with a grin, taking a bite of waffle. "Mm, subpar hotel food. My favorite." Rolling my eyes, I chucked a pillow at him. "Aw, shut up, you suck," I grumbled, crossing my arms with a huff. Laughing, he took another bite. "Hush you know you love me. Anyway, a plan. Hm...okay so cheating is definitely a sore spot between them, maybe we could keep going with that? Like I could give groupies their phone numbers instead of mine and stuff so they think the other is cheating on them?"

I frowned, nodding slowly. "Yeah...we could do that. Or maybe it would be easier to start with letters? I dunno, but I like the angle! I think we could make it work." "Right, right yeah. Yeah, I think we'll be able to make it work. I mean hey man, there's already tension between them, we're just sort of helping them realize that! And in the end when Paul and I end up together and you and Bruce end up together, we're all gonna be happy and it's all gonna be worth it," he said.

"Amen to that," I replied, giving him a smile and resisting the sudden urge I had to kiss him. I mean I loved Gene as a friend, but I didn't love him the same way I loved Bruce.

Right?
