Halloween Special

Happy Halloween! Here's a special chapter just for you guys :) (p.s. has nothing to do with the story...maybe)

"Tom hurry up, we have to go!"

"I'm coming, it's this stupid costume."

It was Halloween down on Earth and Janna was excited for the night's events. The gang had planned to hit up some houses for some old fashioned trick or treating then trespass on a dead serial killer's grave (the last one being Janna's choice).

Janna has also planned to jump scare Star and Marco before they went-

Which won't happen if Tom doesn't hurry his slow ass up.

Janna had dropped by Tom's place in the underworld to see him not ready with his costume yet. He had dressed as a wizard while Janna chose a demon. She was getting frustrated and it didn't help the awkward tense already in the room.

"I don't get why I have to wear a costume. I'm literally a demon," Tom said, putting on the last of his costume.

"It's for the spirit of Halloween duh, now let's go.," Janna said more urgently.

Tom sighed, knowing the real reason why she wanted to go so badly. He had fucked up bad. Nonetheless, he opened up a portal and they both walked through.

They ended up at a park where they were to meet the others. It was dark and deserted, no one there but the two of them.

"Janna I-"

"Let's hide over here." She rapidly walked to a nearby bush that was enough to cover them.

Tom sighed in frustration, putting his hands in his pockets. He then remembered he was wearing a costume so he sulked and followed after.

He joined Janna behind the bush where she was doing everything in her power to subtly avoid eye contact with him.

He crouched down next to her, rubbing knees. She ended up moving over a bit. Tom felt his heart sink at the small movement. The usual talkative girl was now silent all because of what he said.

He shouldn't have said anything. They could be laughing about how silly Marco's face would look when they scared him but instead she was barely making eye contact with him. He was even surprised when she still decided to meet him in the underworld.

But he couldn't help it. He was vulnerable in the moment, just letting anything burst out of his mouth, not even thinking of the consequences. He needed to set things straight.

If she even decides to talk to me.

He looked over at a bored Janna, who was just looking straight ahead at the playground.

"Um Janna?"

She jumped a bit at the sudden scare but gave him her full attention.

"Look, about 3 days ago-"

"Oh look, we have 5 minutes til they arrive. We better be prepared" she interrupted.

Tom scrunched his brows, knowing she was doing this on purpose.

"I know what I said about me having feelings for y-"

She interrupted again, laughing it off nervously. "Feelings? What feelings? We're just two best friends hiding in a bush to scare our friends."

"We're not just friends and you fucking know it."

She didn't say anything, still looking straight ahead, not sure what to say at the sudden outburst.

"Janna look, I meant every word I said that day. You're my best friend, other than Starship and Diaz, but I feel something stronger with you, and I know you feel it too, but why are you denying it?" He put a hand on her shoulder, hoping she knew she could talk to him.
