Tom had high expectations for how his first day before class would be.

After unpacking, he spread out his uniform -a collar shirt, tie and pants- on his bed, ready to be worn with his shoes right in from on him.  He arranged his backpack with any necessary school materials, which was not a lot referring to  what he saw when he looked up on the web, 'what school supplies do high schoolers need.'

He also set his alarm two hours before school started, wanting to experience his first morning the best he could.

Nothing could possibly go wrong.

Poor boy jinxed himself.

-the next morning-

Tom woke up an hour and 40 minutes late, which was surprising considering he always woke up early.

Spilling cuss words here and there, he jumped out of bed and grabbed his towel hoping he could get in a quick shower.

He forgot that he had a roommate so while rushing to reach the bathroom, not once in his mind did he think it might be occupied.

Grabbing the door knob and swinging it open, Tom was met face to face with Janna who, luckily for both of them, had a towel wrapped around her body.

Both of their eyes widen in shock, red in the face.

"I-"

"Get the fuck out!"

Tom has never responded to a command so quickly.

On second thought, I'll just go get dressed.

Tom never in his life imagined that he would ever have to rush to get dressed yet here he was, attempting to dress himself while also combing his hair. He managed to look the best he could seeing how he had 5 minutes left. He heard the front door open and close.

Is Janna just leaving right now too? I should catch up to her and apologize for...

Just thinking about what happened made him blush. Not wasting any more time, he grabbed his bag and rushed out the front door.

Janna started walking across the campus toward the school. She woke up late after having been up late reading a new book she borrowed from the library. She was a huge bookworm, always nose deep in a book whenever she had the chance.

Her schoolmates didn't think it really fit her "image" yet they never bothered to tell her off. She honestly didn't care what they thought.

Her guilty pleasure was teen fiction, not that she would tell anyone or let anyone find out though. Not even Marco and Star knew and they were the closest friends she had.

Reading them helped her escape her horrible life into a world of fantasies and new beginnings. Characters going on adventures. Falling in love. Meeting new people. It excited her.

Eating her apple, she thought about what next book she should get when she heard footsteps behind her.

"Hey Janna, wait up!"

You've got to be kidding me.

She pretended to not hear him and continued walking, speeding up her steps.

Unfortunately for her, Tom jogged his way next to her, breathing lightly.

"Hey...Janna."

Just keep walking just keep walking.

They reached the school, Janna hoping this would be the time that he would go his own way, but he kept following her. She walked to her Language Arts classroom at the end of the hallway. When she grabbed the door handle, she expected Tom to go around her to his own class but he just waited for her.

That's when she realized.

Great. Just great.

She verbally let out an agitated sigh before twisting the handle and walking in, Tom following after.

When they walked in, all eyes were on them. Janna especially noticed most of the girls glaring at her. She assumed word got out that her roommate was their future husband. But the one person sending her death stares was the one and only Brittany Wong.

Bitch.

They never liked each other. Each for their own reasons. Any chance to humiliate or one up the other, they would take.

She rolled her eyes but mentally smirked feeling satisfied at getting a chance to piss off Wong.

Their teacher, Mrs. Jackson spoke, "Ms. Ordonia, you know better than to be late." She looked past Janna to Tom. "And Mr. Lucitor, I know this is new to you but I don't tolerate tardiness in my class. You may take a seat you two."

They walked pass the students, Janna trying to reach the back of the class. She sat down on the farthest seat only for her to look up and see Tom in front of her. She scowled.

He better not even think about it.

As if reading her mind, Tom's face dropped. He then turned his body to see if there were other seats to avoid angrying the demoness any more than he already did.

"You can sit next to me Tom."

Of course it had to be Brittany, waving Tom over with a face innocent smile.

Fake ass bitch.

Seeing as that was the only option, Tom walked over and sat next to the evil queen herself giving her a grateful smile. She gave Janna one more evil look before turning back around.

She thinks I give a damn? Ha!

She faced the front to listen to Mrs. Jackson.

"Okay class. First off, welcome..."
