I feel a light breeze travel through my fur as I am crouched under tall grass. So silent, I can only hear the sound of my breath. Just about to pounce and-
"Nyla!" A familiar voice shouted.
The rabbit runs out of sight as I get up off the ground.
"Piper. You knew I was hunting," I mumble.
"I know!" Piper says in her usual peppy mood. "But I got off Healing Duty for a bit so we can hang." She smiles.
Piper is my best friend, but she is also working full time Healer for the forest...she usually never has time for me."Great! Do you wanna hunt with me?" I ask.
"I'm not a hunter...but I'll try," Piper says.
We were socializing the whole time and I was also teaching her to hunt.
I wish it was like this all the time."Nyla? I have to go now," Piper glances towards the sky. "I have to go back to healing duty..." She now starts to leave.
"Alright..." My smile fades away as my ears droop. "I guess I'll see you around, then."
Not again...
"Bye," Piper's voice fades away.
Lonely. I am lonely, once again. In Meadow National Park. Next thing I know, I'm standing in the middle of nowhere. Might as well head home....
As I head home, I walk by Piper's Healing Den.
"There you go. Your wound is all patched up," I hear Piper say in a happy tone."Thank you!" A male voiced appeared, "You are just like the Aqua Wolf!"
"The Aqua Wolf? Who is that?" By now I am up on top of the den listening to Piper's conversation.
"A mythical legend...a wolf who can heal, has wings and purple, white, and blue fur!" The other wolf continued, "Some wolves say that the wolf lives in DarkWater Cave under so called 'breathable' water, but that is over the Park border. You know us wolves cannot go over the border."
"Yes, I know. Anyways, that's cool-"
"AHH!" I scream as I fall from the den in between the two wolves.
"Nyla! Are you alright!?" Piper asks worriedly.
"Yes. I'm fine." I struggle to get off the cold, moist grass.
"Alrighty then. I guess I'll go. See ya later, Piper." The male wolf scurried off.
"Ta-Ta," Piper says waving her paw. Suddenly, Piper turned my way and loudly said, "What were you doing!?"
"I was overhearing your guys' conversation...where can you find this Aqua Wolf? Sounds interesting," I asked curiously.
"Well, uh.." Piper replied, "Over the border, in DarkWater Cave."
"Ah." I smile.
"Oh no." Piper backs up. "Don't think you are going to go there! It's dangerous!" She exclaimed.
"Oh come on, Piper! It will be fun!" I say wagging my tail.
"No! I will not! I have the safety of the forest, my family- and being the Healer!" Piper barked.
"Fine. I will go by myself, then." I start walking away from Piper's Den.
"And you can't go over the border! It's strictly off limits..." She finished.
"I know," I say quietly, walking away, not looking back at Piper. She called my name a few times, but I just ignored her and went straight home.
