ROLAND ALWAYS HAD been an independent boy since his young childhood. Never turning to rely on the others around him, just trying to grow up by himself and learn from his wrongs. Of course, being a 17-year-old, son of a cop, it's hard to do that, especially if the father is strict.
IN CERTAIN ASPECTS, Roland hated his father, Rick Grimes, but learned that the only reason his father was hard on him was that he wanted him to be successful in life. Which led to Roland Grimes being a track runner and learned he was just really good at running. Whether it was running from his problems or running to something, he was good at all of it. But the freedom of time and space was when he found a guitar that he picked up at a very young age. From the age of six, he had learned how to play guitar and had been the thing that kept him sane over the years. But never prepared him for what came next.
SO, WHEN THE world comes to a bitter end with a virus that sweeps across the world, Roland is only left to do two things. Fight or run. He chose both and to comfort his little brother throughout the entire thing. In the world that they now had to deal with and live in, keeping their humanity was key to keeping the human race alive. Roland had made it his mission to keep his somewhat funny side of him alive and to always take care of Carl at all costs. And finding someone like that was just as hard or even harder.
WHEN THE GROUP is forced to move to a farm under horrible circumstances, Roland will be cautious of the ones he will meet. Willing to do anything necessary to keep his family and unsuspected friends alive. Only there will be a blonde girl that will show him that this way of life can always lead to destruction and will help him learn how to love in this new world. Many things will be thrown at Roland, such as finding a little girl who will also change his cold nature when things get hard. But things will flip on their head when fate meets its course.
