The first thing Yeji noticed was the dark circles under Mirae's eyes.
"woah! girl, what the hell were you doing last night? And please don't say something like you were studying - wait, were you watching a drama? Which one tell me, tell me, tell me!"
The truth was, she was neither studying (as always) and nor she was watching a drama. Instead, she was actually........overthinking (as always).
She sighed hearing the over-energetic girl with two hair buns, repeatedly asking her questions. How much coffee did she had today? Wait, she doesn't need any coffee to be this high in the morning.
"Bro stop. I just couldn't sleep last night" She tiredly replied.
"Wow. You look really tired. What happened? Were you thinking about the fiasco we had the day before yesterday?"
She was kind of right. She didn't forgot the cafeteria incident. She can't forget about it. But the things that which kept bugging her and kept her awake last night was what Mark told her.
Why did Haechan wanted her to be the Queen so badly? Why did he believed that she was perfect for the Queen position? How can someone believe in her, a girl who always managed to mess her life? All the things Mark said about Min Jiya, was it true? Is she really different from what she looks like?
See, she really is an over-thinker.
"No, I was just.... trying to make sense of some things" She looked around the classroom where there were only six students present. She didn't saw the Dreamies this morning. Which she was really glad of she was dreading to come to school because of them and almost skipped again.
"What things?" Yeji encountered mindlessly while applying nail paint. Is this allowed here? If it isn't, she didn't seem to care.
"Oh, its nothing" She sighed like the twelth time. "What about you? Mind telling me what happened yesterday?"
"Nothing" Yeji deadpanned. Mirae glared at her which she only laughed off.
"Okay! Okay! relax, I was joking. It looked like you needed something to laugh about and it clearly didn't work. Maybe I should rethink my decision of being a comedian"
Mirae smiled at that. Yeji seemed a bit relieved that she made her laugh.
"So.....about yesterday?" She asked again.
"Really. Nothing happened yesterday. Its like they forgot about what happened that day. " yeji finally put down her brush and examined her now neon yellow nails. "Ironic, Isn't it? they were trying to kill us before then they suddenly acted like I don't even exist. It felt like they were intentionally ignoring me."
Mirae furrowed her eyebrows at that. Were they ordered to do so?
"Isn't it pretty?" Yeji showed her her nails. "Its so shiny. Unlike my future."
Mirae snorted at her.
"No really! Who wants a bright future when you can blind your present with your bright nails"
"Yeji, love the confidence but no. You know some of us can't afford that" Mirae giggled at her antics."
"Who talked about affording?" Yeji hopped on the desk. She crossed her legs and smiled down at Mirae. "Who wants to buy when you can get it for free"
Mirae paused and looked at her in confusion. "Nothing in life is free"
Yeji smiled evilly at her. "Everything is free if you take without asking."
