"Girl, you need to find yourself a man...or something!" states my best friend through the phone. "It's been long enough, yeah? You need to move on. Life is passing you by and...well, let's face it! We are NOT getting any younger!" Thank you?
Groaning to myself, I try to open one of my eyes to check the time on my phone. I mentally curse myself for staying up too late doing work. Hey, at least you got it done right? Hmph..."Jennifer, I officially hate you right now. It's fucking six in the morning! Bloody hell, at least wish me a happy birthday first! To think your best friend would even -" I'm interrupted when she yells back.
"Oh shut up! You know you love me anyway. And yeah, yeah - happy birthday!" I can hear her ranting off about how she's going to take me out with a couple of our friends to a club to celebrate my 'super special day' (as she liked to call it), Funky something - I don't even bother to ask.
She notices I'm beginning to fall back asleep and she starts yelling, "Oh hell no! I hope you aren't sleeping again! Get your fucking arse out of that bed and get ready because I will be there in thirty. AND if you aren't ready by the time I get there - I WILL show everyone the clip I took of you from our little round about back at the karaoke bar. Remember that? Don't test me Savannah!" Shit. I forgot about that stupid video.
"Okay, okay. I'm up! I'm up! Shit..." I drag myself out of my king size bed (yes, I have all that space all to myself) and walk into the door of my bathroom face first. "Mmph!" Mother fucker! "See Jennifer! Look what you made me do! I walked into the stupid door..." Obviously I am not a morning person. I hate waking up early. As I wait for her reply, I could hear the snicker she's trying to hide.
"I'm sorry sis! I just wanted to be the first one to greet you, I'm really sorry!" Mmhmm...she says she's sorry but I could still hear her laughing. And with that, I push the END button on my cell phone - clearly hanging up on her.
