The day dragged on, made longer by the fact that Asher Beckett was everywhere. Every turn I took he was there, his head turning and looking at me every time as if he could sense my presence. Asher might be many things but one that I knew he wasn't subtle, every time he saw me a smile would appear on his face and my name would be yelled across the way, much to the disgust of a red head that hung off Asher's arm and every word. Her green eyes shot daggers in my direction every chance they got, almost trying to remind me to stay in my place.
I pushed my way through the large front doors in the front of the school and walked in the direction of my house. After successfully untangling my headphones and find an appropriate playlist I set off for home, hoping to not encounter a certain brunette male for the rest of the day.
Cars sped past as I dragged my legs up the street, music still blasting in my ears. Out of the corner of my eye I could see a car had slowed and pulled to the side of the road closer to me, with my thoughts getting the better of me I bent down and looked through the passenger side window rolling my eyes and letting out a sigh when I saw who occupied the driver's seat.
"Seriously?"
"What? Am I starting to get under your skin already?" Asher Beckett asked with a smirk plastered on his face. I straightened up and continued to walk straight, not wanting to give away the fact that him getting under my skin was exactly what was happening. The black car continued to creep slowly next to me. I heard Asher trying to say something and against my better judgement I turned the music right down and slowed my pace.
"I can give you a ride home."
"Did you know that stalking is a crime?"
"What!" He exclaimed.
"That must be why I've spent those couple of nights in jail." He said nonchalantly, his beautiful smile returning to his face. I couldn't help but let out a small laugh at our exchange. My heart beating fast in my chest, I was grateful that Asher couldn't hear just how much of an effect he had on me.
"Come on, let me give you a ride."
"I'm not allowed to get in cars with strangers." I said turning back and continuing my walk home.
"How am I a stranger? I thought we were just bonding over our shared knowledge of stalking."
"You are the very definition of stranger; you don't even know my name."
"Well, let's change that." Asher said, reaching over and opening the door. Against my better judgement I paused, turned off my music and got in the car.
*
"My name is Isabella, but everyone calls me Izzy." I said, breaking the silence of the car ride.
"So pretty." Asher whispered quietly to himself. My eyes never left his face as he continued to drive and focus on the road. If I thought him front on was the most breathtaking sight his profile was no different. His jaw from strong and I could make a small patch of stubble and his eyelashes were long and thick and seemed to touch his high cheekbones every time he blinked.
"Now who is the stalker." Asher said, a slight laugh following his statement.
"I'm just keeping an eye on you."
"I'm definitely not complaining, you can stare at me for as long as you like."
His statement made my cheeks heat up, a blushing rising my neck and settling on my cheeks.
"My house is just up here, on the right." I said, no longer looking at him. Desperately looking anywhere but Asher so he wouldn't see my now red face.
"Well, it's been a pleasure giving you a ride Izzy." He said in a way that had very sexual undertones and meant he didn't mean in his car at all.
"Charming." I said, opening the door and getting out of the car without another word.
"Thanks again, for the lift. Maybe lets not make a habit of you following me around though."
With that I turned around and made my way to the front door, using all my strength not to turn around and look at Asher again who I knew was still in the driveway, his eyes burning holes in my back.
