My alarm rang out loud, filling the room with an annoying beeping. Today the alarm seemed unnecessary, I had been awake for hours, thoughts of my mate on replay in my brain. Her eyes, her smile, her hair and her laugh all taking up a large capacity of my brain. I got off my bed and grabbed the nearest pair of jeans and a clean shirt before heading to my adjoining bathroom. Steam started to rise around me as I washed every inch of my body, the warm water cascading down my body. A phone notification pulled me from my thoughts and I almost pulled the shower curtain off the rod trying to check who had cause the notification.

Bianca – Missed you last night :*

My stomach flipped, a sick feeling growing in my stomach seeing the notification from Bianca. The thought of the many late nights I spent with Bianca made an uncomfortable shiver creep up my spine. The thought of having sex or being with anyone else since meeting Izzy a short twenty-four hours ago almost made my skin crawl. Pushing all thoughts of Bianca far from my mind I finished my shower and got ready, heading downstairs to start the day.

"Good morning Asher." A little girl greeted as I walked down the many halls of the pack house. I gave her a small smile and a wave.

"Alpha." Richard, a mechanic that works at the pack house said with a nod as I backed the car out of the garage. I nodded back, giving him a wave as I backed onto the street and turned in the direction of school.

The pop tarts jumped out of the toaster emitting a sweet smell as I sipped my coffee. I turned off the toaster and grabbed the pop tart, taking a bite and letting the strawberry filling takeover my taste buds.

"What are you doing? Are you ready? It's like 8:10!"

I dropped the pop tart and put the coffee mug in the sink, thankful that all I had to do was grab my bag and head for the car. I was still getting used to school starting at 8:30.

The ride to school was relatively quiet, mum and me making small talk, I was grateful for the distraction. As we got closer to the school the more I thought of Asher. I was still confused as to why for almost the whole night and most of the morning he was all I seemed to think about. The car came to a stop and I smiled brightly at mum and we said our goodbyes before I walked in the direction of the front doors. I was almost through the arch of the entrance when I was barricaded between two bodies. I turned my head left and then right, looking at the two people who had just linked arms with me. To my right was a red head who had her hair in a loose fishtail braid. Even tied her hair was so long that it was almost touching her waste. Her pale face was almost bird like with high cheek bones and a small pointy nose. Her blue eyes were friendly, and she gave me a small smile that I was slightly hesitant to return. The girl on my left was the complete opposite to the first girl. Her skin was dark and her face was round, her lips were full and painted in a slight purple gloss. Her brown eyes were soft and sat behind long thick lashes. Loose brown curls framing her face.

"Hi, I'm Payton, you're new!"

"Your perception skills are unmatched." I said sarcastically, trying to pull my arms from both the girls. Their grips stronger than you expected.

"Sassy. I love it."

"What is your name?" a small mousey voice asked from the opposite direction.

"Um, I'm Izzy." I said putting on a smile that hopefully did not give away just how uncomfortable I was. Making friends was never my strong suit, human interaction was never at the top of my list of preferred activities.

"I'm Ari!" The red-haired girl said, giving my arm a slight squeeze. Even in the truly short time I had known them I wondered how two vastly different people could become friends. Ari seemed soft and gentle, her blue eyes were filled with kindness. Payton on the other hand seemed to be anything but fragile.

"You don't have any friends yet, so I'm proposing that you come and be friends with us." She said confidently, winking at me and pulling me tight against her. Before I could answer the bell rang and the girls released my arms and started heading into the school.

"Come find us at lunch, we'll be outside the cafeteria." Payton said over her shoulder, giving me a salute before disappearing into the sea of students.

I decided to sit in the same seat in homeroom that I had yesterday. Butterflies were in my stomach, either from anxiety or excitement. Even though I wanted to be in denial the thought of seeing Asher again made a warm feeling spread over my body, his presence already starting to be a comfort to me. The craziness of me admitting that to myself was enough to make me shake my head, silently telling myself to pull it together and think of literally anything else but this boy that I had met only 24hrs ago. As if on cue Asher strode into the classroom, his perfect white teeth on full display as he smiled at me. How could someone look so incredibly perfect but also look like they had never tried to. I was suddenly self-conscious. I fiddled with my 'I only kiss superheroes' shirt that was tucked into the top of my high waisted jeans. I crossed my feet over each other and tried to sink further into the chair. Asher's smiled never faltered as he made his way over to me and sat right next to me, where he had the day before.

"Morning Bella." He said, still smiling and sending a wink in my direction.

"No one calls me Bella." Was all I said, probably a bit to viciously, instantly regretting my tone as I said it.

"Well, I'm going to start." He stated, his smiled becoming even more flirty, if that was even possible. I turned in my seat, facing away from him, hoping that this day would go quickly, and I could find something that would distract me from Asher.
