It was now December. The winds blew, cold and icy. Dumbledore had left the room that night after Jungkook's last "Seeing" episode, making Jungkook promise to tell him if he had another one. Jungkook had promised. It was all he could say. It was all he WOULD say. No more dreams had occurred. At least, not that Jungkook remembered. But there were times when he felt like he was about to black out. He always swallowed the pain and darkness, however, hoping it would go unnoticed. He didn't realize that his friends were keeping a close eye on him. Jungkook did not realize at all. To him, it was almost as if they had forgotten. That suited Jungkook just fine.

And that was how it was, on the snowy day of December 21, when many of the students of Hogwarts left school for the holidays. Jungkook was not among the throngs of children heading home. No way. He wouldn't go home to his parents even if he was paid a million dollars. And so when most of his friends left, he watched their departure. He felt a bit jealous. They seemed to have perfect families compared to him. Jungkook knew that wasn't actually true, but it seemed like it.

He watched as Tae and his two brothers bounded out the doors of Hogwarts, waving goodbye excitedly. "SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!" Tae called loudly. Jungkook waved back.

And then Namjoon was in the doorway. He turned and waved, and was soon lost in the crowd of students.

And there was Hobi, waving brightly as he excitedly bounced on his toes. He had told Jungkook that he was super excited for the holidays. According to Hobi, he and his family were going to France. Jungkook had tried his hardest not to look jealous. Either it worked, or Hobi was oblivious. Probably that second option.

And Taehyun was gone for the holidays too, along with Terry. Jungkook was alone in their dorm room for Christmas.

The last of the homebound students left the Great Hall. Minguk, at the last second, turned to his younger brother. He leered, and made a "Oh my God, I'm dying! Let me fall off my broom and break my arm and leg! Oh! How clumsy I am! How weak I am!" fainting gesture. Jungkook was so mad-

Then Minguk's facial expression changed dramatically. He smiled?

Jungkook turned and saw Yoongi standing behind him, eyebrows raised. He looked from Minguk to Yoongi. It felt as if he were trapped in a war of wills, or something like that.

And then, Minguk gave in. He turned and walked out, waving without looking.

Yoongi placed his hand on Jungkook's arm, then seemed to think better of it. Taking it off, Yoongi said, "Don't worry about him. He's kind of an idiot."

Jungkook stared. Was Yoongi standing up for him?

Yoongi didn't know what he was doing. STOP COMFORTING HIM! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU, MIN YOONGI? DON'T!

Yoongi still continued. "Minguk is just jealous he doesn't have flying skills like yours." WHAT ARE YOU DOING? WHY AREN"T YOU LISTENING TO ME? I'M THE BRAIN, I SHOULD CONTROL WHAT IS SAID! MOUTH! SHUT UP!

Jungkook grinned that signature bunny smile. "Thanks Yoongi! Hobi is right, you're not bad." He turned and ran to Jimin, who was on the other side of the Great Hall.

Yoongi sighed. He was getting too soft. His grandmother would be ashamed. Not that she wasn't ALREADY ashamed. Just the day before, Yoongi had gotten a letter, telling him to come home. He didn't want to go home to his overbearing grandmother, who always berated him with lessons about the harm that being on the wrong side could cause. Yoongi didn't care very much for her endless tirades about the old days when "He Who Must Not Be Named" had reigned. He didn't much care at all. Still, his grandmother kept going on and on and on about Voldemort (yes, Yoongi called him Voldemort, he didn't believe in "fear of a name", it was silly) and how good the days of darkness had been. Yoongi was not in the mood for hearing any of that this holiday. And so he resolved that he wouldn't. Yoongi would not be going home this Christmas.
