GABBI
I walked out of class as the bell rang for lunch. I took a look at the sky as I walked out to the court and sighed.
"What’s wrong, Gabbi?" my friend, Lizzy, broke my silence. I gave her a smile.
"Nothing’s wrong my beauty, come, let’s eat." I giggled and took our table. I hate lying to her, but, I don't want to pull the "I’m worried about Yuki" thing. She says it always puts me in a bad mood. Ever since he went missing I was flipping out. I didnt know if he ran away, or his dad locked him in a basement to never see daylight again. Then out of the blue he comes swooping down to save this one guy that just showed up at the school. I was happy to see him, and mad because he made me worry and make up crazy stories in my head. That glare in his eyes though, when that man mentioned his mother....
I was scared.
I thought to myself, thats not my Yuki... it was like he was a whole new person.I felt Lizzy lift my chin and started to examine my face. She let me go and tossed herself in a seat with a big huff.
"You are worried about him," she announced. I started to turn red.
"I am not!" I shot back. She brought one of her fingers up and made a funny face.
"Yes you are. Don’t deny it! He leaves, comes back looking like he just stepped out of an anime-warrior-action movie, and left. Plus beaten up this weird dude and smacked him around because he said something about Yuki’s mom," she continued. She brought my hands up.
"Face it, you are worried about him." I ripped my hands away, but said nothing back. I hate when she sees right through me, I thought. I felt someone tugging on my jacket collar and turned. Standing behind me was the no-good-dirty-boy, Chad. I never liked (and never will like) him, he always bullied Yuki because he was so nice. I rolled my eyes.
"What do you want, Chad?" I snapped. He started rubbing my shoulders.
“Come on, baby. Why you got to be so cold?”
“I don't think your pride can handle the answer I want to give you, Chad.”
“What makes you think that?”
many reasons, many reasons. Can you go away now.”
“ So cold, baby, so cold.” He teased.
He reached his arms around me and I shook him off.
I shot Lizzy the "get me out of here before I bite his fingers off" look and she stood up.
"Well, sorry to burst your bubble, chad. But we gotta go," she said pulling me away. We ran behind the gym and took our breaths. I mouthed the word thank you and sat down.
" I don’t know what he sees in you, besides, well everything. gosh, stop being hot and maybe he'll leave you alone." we both laughed. I pushed her playfully and she pushed back. I gave off a sigh,
" whats on your mind?" Lizzy asked. I looked at her and shrugged my shoulder. " It's just came to me, who was that person Yuki took with him when he showed up that day? I mean, they seen really close." I said. Lizzy gave me this "that’s a shocker" look and I stuck my tongue out at her. she laughed. " Come to think of it, I was wondering the same thing. Also, I was wondering of his new outfit. what was all that about? oh, and swinging out of nowhere, almost getting shot, then saved by other people we have no clue of, and-- well, I don’t think there’s anything else, yet." she blabbered and gave off a smile.
“Everything will be okay, honey.” Lizzy smiled.
That’s when we heard the gun shots. I looked at Lizzy and she looked at me.
“Or not...”
We both stood and ran to the sound. We came to the paddock of the school and saw three familiar figures running this way. It's him, he's back. happy thoughts went through my mind. He was caught at gun point and stopped. Chad and his gang was with him, caught in the middle. The little girl with him grabbed his waist and the dog started to growl, then, the guns went off. He grabbed the girl in his arms as a wall of blue fire circled around them. I stood in shock, how is he not getting burned! I looked Lizzy to see if I was the only one seeing this. Her mouth was held open in shock. I looked back at the blue fire wall, my mind filled with confusion.
I have to go to him.....he needs me.... strange thoughts started going through my head as I stumbled towards him. My knees buckled and I fell to the ground. Scream for him, I yelled at myself.
Do it,
My eyes watered.
Do it!
I couldn’t stand my silence anymore, I took a deep breath and called out his name.
