CHAPTER XI

Yuki

I woke up to find myself in my bed. Mei was standing over me, " Hey. good to see you awake." she gave me a big smile (which is odd, coming from her). " It was hard to heal, but, I managed. now you just have a big, cool, scar." she gave me a wink. I stared at her blankly still processing what was going on. Sugar peeked in, " Kiki, your awake!" she yelled jumping on me. I grunted as pain shot up me, she gave me an "I'm sorry" look and cuddled next to me.

" Don’t ever scare me like that again."

I smiled, hugging her in the biggest hug I can manage.

" yes ma'am."

she gave me a smile. Captain flew up and landed on my pillow as Shino walked in. " Morning, beauty queen." He teased, sitting down on the edge of my bed.

" Thought we lost you, you did loose a lot of blood." Mei smacked him.

" Don’t believe in my healing abilities?" she snapped, Shino gave off a shrug.

"Even though you get on my nerves, kid, I would have missed you." Hero said, jumping on my bed and licking my face (even though he can talk, he's still a dog). “Oh yeah, and your an annoying, pampered pup." I shot back. everyone laughed. " Good to see you back to normal." Ember joked as Romeo and him walked in. I stuck my tongue out at him. Ember smirked, " Is that an offer." he shot back, Romeo smacked him in the chest. I rolled my eyes, Shino cleared his throat. " when you're done in here, bring him to the middle room (some people call it a family/living room).

“We need to discuss what happened out there." Shino said in his icy, business voice.

He turned and walked out. " Yes daddy!" I yelled after him. They all gave me the " he's hopeless" sigh. Ember and Romeo grabbed me from under my arms and took me to the middle room. They placed me down in the bean chair,(some how, it became mine) Captain jumped into my lap. The rest of them sat on the couch, Sugar sat next to me. " First topic: what was that creature." Shino began. Always got to act like the boss, I thought. sugar started laughing, I gave her a smile. everyone was looking at their toes. I gave off a sigh, " It's a griffin, a creature in Greek mythology. Don’t you guys pay attention in class." I said. they looked at me shocked, geez, I'm not aloud to be smart. bullies. Shino shrugged his shoulders, " O-Kay, topic two: Where did it come from and what did it want?" I closed my eyes, Ember was the one to talk. " Well, from my point of view, it wanted sugar. I don’t think it like you interfering, Yuki." I gave him a dirty look, "You think." I grunted, feeling pain shoot through my body. Sugar gasped and I looked at her startled. " What if it's another one of sector 8's creations!" We all looked at her with thought. "No matter how crazy it sounds, it could be true." Romeo announced.

We shook our heads in agreement. Mei tapped her fingers on a table, " here’s the thing I'm confused about, why did it attack Sugar instead of capturing her?" We all looked at her.

No one knew the answer.

" We have another topic. Yuki’s abilities." Shino said and everyone’s eyes faced me. Great, I hate being in the spotlight. " Well, I can say, I have no idea how I did it." I said. sugar snapped her fingers,

" Maybe this is what your father was hiding from you!" Sugar yelled. I started rubbing my temples,

" that was my ear, sugar." I grunted. She giggled,

"sorry."

Mei looked at Shino, then me.

" Maybe this has something to do with your dream." I brought my hand to my chin.

" Could be," Sayu said. I started to rub my temples again, Sugar kissed my cheek. Don’t worry, we'll find out soon. I gave her a smile, who said I was worried, she looked at me with a smile, your temples. I laughed and she snuggled next to me.
