Pokemon Journeys: Research Professors

Chapter-4

Goh's POV

                                           I reached my house after taking a bus. I still couldn't believe that we were asked to go to the Kalos Academy. It was a dream come true for me. When I was a small kid I really wanted to go to the Academy but Mom and Dad were really busy and someone had to stay with my grandmother so I decided to stay here and attend school with Chloe. She was one of my few friends and I was grateful to have her. But I admit that sometimes I missed the company if boys. I was really leading a dull and boring life with only my research to occupy me. That all changed when I met Ash.

                                           When I first met him, my first thoughts about him were, crazy and reckless. But that all changed when I started to know him better. He had a big heart, ready to do anything for his friends and never gave up till the end. Without me knowing he was starting to become a kind of mentor for me. I really appreciate all the things he and Pikachu have done for me.

                                            Now I wasn't lonely anymore. I had Raboot, who was currently sitting beside me with eyes closed. I smiled at him and then continued to gaze out through the window thinking what the others were doing. Probably breaking down the news to their parents as well. I then start to wonder how I should break down the news to mom, dad and granny. After thinking for a few moments I closed my eyes and decided to just wing it.

                                              We soon reached my apartment. I took a deep breath and opened the door. I was surprised to see the people sitting before me. "Mom, Dad What are you doing here?" Dad stood up as he gave me a grin "Well we do live here" and Mom tackled me into a hug.

                                                We were sitting in the living room. Mom was preparing lemonade for us. Dad was talking on the phone and me and grandmother were talking to each other. Raboot was staring around the house."I see that Scorbunny has evolved" "Yeah and he has also become quite strong". "Here you go! Enjoy!" mom said placing the drinks on the table before proceeding to sit opposite me. Me and Raboot drank up the lemonade in two gulps. "Wow Mom that was really good!" I exclaimed and Raboot nodded his head in approval. We were just starting to converse before dad interrupted.

                                                 "So Goh how are things at Professor Cerise's laboratory?" Dad asked to which I replied "It's going great! I have caught many new Pokemon and I go on adventures as a research fellow with Raboot, Ash and Pikachu almost every day." "That's good to hear. We were always worried that you were sometimes lonely in your childhood, but now I know that you are having fun." Mom said. I smiled, guess it was true. I was an introvert, but I guess I came out of my shell. I still am shy when I meet new people but I quickly warm up to them.

                                                    "By the way Goh what did you have to tell us. Must be important because you came to talk with us face-to-face." Granny asked and I nodded "Yes it is" I paused for a moment before continuing, "So I know that you are all familiar with the Council for Pokemon training and education," I asked to which the three of them nodded. "So the council made a new policy saying that all the students studying in any institution must get an experiential overview from someone their own age. So Professor Cerise is friends with the professor of Kalos and the principal of the Kalos Academy, Professor Sycamore who knows Ash so he asked Professor Cerise whether it would be possible for the two of us to come and share our experiences with the students." I finished and looked at them hoping to see their reactions. 

There was a slight pause and then:

"Oh my God Goh you should definitely go."

"The Kalos Academy! Such an honour."
