Pokemon Journeys: Research Professors

Chapter-6

Serena's POV

                                                           "Serena! What's taking you so long? Aren't your friends waiting for you at the park?" Mom asked from the landing. I woke up from my trance and placed the handkerchief back with the picture I had painted after the camp. "I'll see you again Ash, I promise. And this time I'll tell you my name" I said to the boy in the picture.

                                                            Across the world, a raven-haired boy who had been packing suddenly sneezed. "Are you ok Ash?" His friend, Goh, asked him. "Yeah, just felt that someone was talking about me," he said rubbing his nose. "Your strange, you know that?" Goh said. " "Yeah, yeah, let's carry on shall we?" Ash asked as he lifted a bunch of underwear his mom had sent him.

Back in Vaniville:

                                                             Serena was now walking towards the park where her friends where waiting for her. Even though she was shy she had managed to make some good friends. The first, Shauna. She had met Shauna in her elementary school and the two of us immediately hit it off. She knew I was shy and was always helping me speak to other people. And because of her, I've made tons of improvement. She was also the one that got me into performing and I managed to beat her during one of the performances. 

                                                               The next is Clemont. He's sort of a brother/mentor to me. He was very nervous in elementary school and couldn't even speak to girls. Heck, he even had difficulty speaking to me. But that all changed when He and his sister, Bonnie, went on a journey with some boy. He was no longer nervous or shy but was confident and able to speak his mind to others. He said that it was all thanks to the boy with whom he had travelled. Serena knew he had changed because there was a time when she had no dream to follow and it seemed that she will have to be a Rhyhorn racer. Then one day, when she and Clemont were alone, Clemont started talking to her. I told him that I had no idea of what to become in the future. That's when he surprised me.

                                                                He said, "Serena, I'm going to quote what a certain person told me 'It's not what others think, but rather what YOU want to think of doing with your life, sure you may have to face a few challenges and loses along the way, but it's your choice, your life. Also, your Pokemon are going to be with you till the end. Just remember that nothing you do is pointless. It will always help you in any way'." he finished and smiled at me. "Don't forget me and all our friends are there to support you" "Clemont... Thank you. I really needed that" I said with a sincere smile.

                                                                 "Don't thank me, thank the guy who made me what I am today" "You're referring to your friend, right?" "Yep".

                                                                   And that's how I got my inspiration to perform. The first showcase I participated in was a disaster. I felt completely low and even considered giving up when Ash's words came to my mind, "Don't give up till it's over!" and Clemont's "your Pokemon are going to be with you till the end. Just remember that nothing you do is pointless." I decided I wasn't going to give up that easily and also to start afresh. That meant a certain makeover. Since then I have grown so much along with my Pokemon that I even reached the masterclass and performed against Aria!

                                                                    While I was in my own world. I didn't notice that I had arrived at my destination. "Hey, Serena!" a familiar voice called out. Serena turned around and grinned. "Hey, Shauna! How are you?" I asked as I walked over to her. "I'm great by the way, c'mon the others are waiting for you," she said as she grabbed my hand and started to pull me with her. After a few seconds of walking/pulled I noticed the rest of the gang standing near the swings.
