Serena's POV
After being woken up ungracefully by that stupid flying/normal type bird, I thought I might as well get up. I grumbled random things about why Mom had to befriend that Pokemon of all the others. I went into the bathroom and stared at the reflection from the mirror. What was staring at me was a pair of bright cerulean eyes that were filled with annoyance and slight anger. My face had a grumpy look. I remembered Aria the Kalos queen saying to me that a performer should always wear a smile on her face.
I arranged my face and smiled at myself. Now the reflection showed a cheery and happy me with a bright smile. I then turned to my Pokemon and said, "Good Morning everyone! Ready to go and see our friends today?" They replied by giving their signature cries. I smiled. I was really close to my Pokemon so I knew they were just as excited as I was.
"Serena! Are you up yet?" Mom asked from below the stairs. "Yeah, Mom" "Good, breakfast is ready." "Kay, coming Mom just a sec". I then went to my cupboard and then changed into my regular daywear(aka, her XYZ outfit minus the ribbon).
I then headed downstairs with my Pokemon. In the hall, Mom was already laying pancakes and syrup on the table. "Good morning Mom" "Good morning sweetheart, how was your sleep? Did you wake up alright?" When Mom asked the last bit her eyes were sparkling with a mischievous glint. "Yep I slept alright until I was woken by someone's Fletchling," I said accusingly. She just stared back with innocent eyes. I sighed, Mom had been using Fletchling to wake me up since I was seven. You would've thought that after all this time I should have gotten used to this but it still annoys me sometimes.
I took the Pokemon food from the cupboard and poured it into bowls for my Pokemon to eat. Then I took another bowl and went outside where Rhyhorn's home was. "Good morning Rhyhorn," I said while placing the bowl in front of him and petting his head." "Rhy," he said in greeting before starting to eat. I went back inside and sat down on my chair. The pancakes were amazing! I looked at my Pokemon who were also enjoying their food. Mom then came in and sat down beside me while turning on the TV.
"Good morning Kalos! Today is a special day for every citizen of Lumiose city as today the city has been fully rebuilt after the events of Team Flare." the news reporter said. "After the ending of the Kalos League, a criminal organisation named Team Flare suddenly attacked Lumiose city with the help of the legendary order Pokemon, Zygarde" I shuddered remembering the panic and the disaster that had taken place during that time. I still have nightmares about it sometimes.
"The leader who headed Team flare went by the name of Lysandre whose dream was to create a new world from the remains of the destroyed world. He was very powerful and had a lot of allies. He even had control over Zygarde." she paused for a moment to leave suspense in the air. It was clear from her tone that she was enjoying this. I waited eagerly for her to continue.
"Just when all hope was lost, a group of kids along with Professor Sycamore, Champion Diantha and the gym leaders of the Kalos region joined forces to take down the megalith that had to awaken during the time. In the end, Zygarde joined the fight and together they brought down Team Flare. But the amount of damage the city took was extensive. The citizens have been working non-stop to bring the city back to the way it was before and today the hard work of all the citizens have paid off as the last building damaged has been reconstructed. The champion will be addressing the region in a week on its efforts from none other than the Kalos Academy." I was shocked to hear this. Champion Diantha coming to our school to address the region! What an honour!
