(Bonus Chapter)
guys I've been blaring Christmas music since the first day of November
•••NIKLAUS'S POV
My mind couldn't think straight whenever she was around. I never really had a thing for blondes, if I was being honest; I don't know why, I just didn't. Well, blonde in Manchester, that is. But then Kiara came along with her big blue eyes, feisty attitude, and one hell of a great ass, and she completely turned my world upside-down.
However, even before she came along my life was chaotic.
"Nik, are you even paying attention to what I'm saying?" Kiara's scolding voice suddenly spoke up, breaking me from my trance. "This is important."
"Sorry, sorry," I mumbled, running a hand down my face and yawning. Fuck, I was tired. "What is it, love?"
"Should I do red, green, or white?"
My gaze moved from Kiara's curious stare to the three dresses she had hanging in front of me. It was crazy to think that one week has gone by since she nearly walked out of my life after that phone call with her father, and now all of a sudden she's been keeping more and more clothes at my place.
"Uh," I dragged out, watching one of her eyebrows raise. "I like the red."
"Red?" Kiara repeated, looking at the dress. "Are you sure?"
"Yes, Kiara, I'm sure. It's not too bright of a red that it's eye-catching, but it isn't too dark for you to blend into the crowd."
Kiara slowly nodded, pursing her lips. "Alright. Give me a few more minutes to do my makeup. While you're at it, try finding a tie to match."
I groaned and fell back into the bed, resting one of my arm over my face. Considering it was December now, that meant that I had to hold a Christmas get together for each department.
Did I have to go? Technically, yes, since I was head of the building; but I didn't go to last year's so that didn't change anything about this year. But now I wanted to go. Maybe I was a little bit whipped for Kiara—just a little bit—but I couldn't help it. The woman was intoxicating and I could never get enough of her. Plus, I knew that, though she didn't show it, she was excited for this party.
"What exactly are you doing in there?" I asked her skeptically, hearing her distant laughter.
"I'm doing my makeup, what else would I be doing?" Kiara answered back, walking out a few seconds later. I couldn't help but chuckle at how odd she looked; she always went either all makeup or all natural, never in between.
"Are you sure you want to go?" I asked her, frowning as she walked back into the washroom to finish up. "I mean, we can always just—"
"Stay in bed and have sex?" She finished, causing a smirk to slowly grow across my face. "Sorry to tell you but I would actually like to go to this event, Nik. Just for the food and alcohol, of course."
I chuckled, walking into the washroom and standing behind her. She already had one of her eyes glamoured up with eyeshadow and perfectly winged eyeliner, and she was just starting on her other eye.
