~°ABIM'S POV°~

I put down the phone, trying to take in the news from Akum. I cannot believe it. She cannot leave Crimson High. How was she the one who stole the money and how did Noah find out everything? Great thing is, she had a date but Noah will be devastated when he hears she's decided to actually leave. He'll be broken in pieces. Unfixable little pieces.

"What's wrong?"

I jerk at the sound of Matthew and flinch a little at his cold hold on my arm. He smiles a bit. "Oh, sorry." he apologises and gets his hand away immediately. I smile. "What did she say?"

"It's... It's a long story and I really don't want people to know about it," I reply in a gloomy tone and he nods with a little smile.

"Ah, Abim and Matthew! Wetin dey sup na... Which kind chemistry, so na only me go con be single?" Israel says loudly, causing everyone to burst in laughter.

"Guy, mind your business!" Matthew says and grabs my hand, leading me seats away from the noise of Israel. I stare at my phone and sigh, bringing it down and looking up at Matthew once again.

"So, you don't trust me?" he asks.

"Not, that. I - " I pause, smiling a bit and shrugging his statement off. He chuckles.

A little silence invades our privacy and I keep thinking of Abim but not long after, my thoughts deviate to Matthew. Why is be suddenly interested in me, and even if I would be gald doing it, it feels wrong dating Chantelle's ex. I shouldn't be doing so and honestly speaking, I don't have even the slightest thing for Matthew. I just don't want to break him, yet I may be doing the wrong thing by leading him on.

"Matthew, what's going on?" I ask.

"On as in..." he trails off, confused.

"I mean, you and Chantelle just broke up and... Correct me if I'm wrong but it just doesn't feel right. You get?" I raise a brow, quite scared if how he might take it.

"I know," he pauses. "I understand but... No, you're right. I totally - "

"Announcement, Announcement, Announcement! SS2 students!"

I turn to my front to see Chantelle perambulating about with a cunning smile on her lips. She curls her lips, fixing her gaze on Matthew and I before averting it immediately and hissing loudly.

"So, how many of you are aware Akum is the thief of the twenty thousand naira we have all been accused falsely off?" she asks and all mouths gasp, including mine. I freeze for a split second and before I can fire at her, I hear someone from my back.

"And who told you that?"

Noah walks to the front of the class, his awesome aura in place and his words sounding like Chantelle may get some tears today. He stands before her, gently places both hands in his pockets and fixes his undivided gaze on her. The tension rises.

"Oh, come on Noah! Don't try to defend her. We both know that - "

"Get your stupid facts right, Chantelle," he stresses the 'stupid' so much, the whole class gasps. "It hasn't been proven and what you're saying is just a rumor spread by you which by the way is pretty useless," he shoots at her and the whole class goes "whoa!" People slowly gather around them. Matthew and I join in too. "Talk," he continues and smirks, as if knowing her next move.
