"Hold on....Mekaila?" I ask, taking a quick step back to regain my sudden outburst of curiosity. 'The description matched him perfectly, so I just said what was on my mind but, there's no way it's him...' I smiled awkwardly and looked back up at him from embarrassment.
"How...do you know my name?" He responded, taking the slightest step forward while I take another one back. "Well honestly I'm not surprised, sorry I asked. It's an idol school after all, of course people would know us." He laughed softly, taking an awkward sigh.
"S-Sorry, I don't know many idols...but I thought I knew you from somewhere else! Did you...happen to work at a farm when you were younger?" I grip onto my bag, wondering if that was a little to personal for a rich superstar to answer. His eyes widen and he rushes over to me and puts a finger over my mouth. He looks around at everywhere, making a big deal out of nothing, or so I thought.
"How do you know about that?!" Mekaila asked, still looking like he could explode any moment. 'Damn he was dramatic.'
"Sorry to ask! But someone had the same name as you that I knew a while back.." I felt a little intimidated by him, but I did my best to not fall back and cry. I felt obligated to answer his question with another question, given the uncomfortable situation I was in. He was so close to me I could feel the heat radiating off of his face, and our bodies were almost touching. I felt my face flush as well, but shook off my thoughts to ask again. "So you do remember me!" I said happily, smiling and taking a step back so I wouldn't explode from my embarrassment.
"Of course I remember you, it's hard to forget who you grew up with you know.." He tried not to smile like I was already doing, but he did let out another awkward laugh. Overall this conversation was the most nerve racking and awkward experience I had ever been in. "At least now you won't have some stranger showing you around huh? Knowing you, you'd get lost within the first two minutes of being inside." He scoffed, taking the schedule from my hands and looking at it. "Alright y/n, follow me, and don't lose me or else I'm not coming back." He teased again, chuckling as he starting walking towards the school. I laugh with him out of pity, and follow behind him slowly, taking my time to embrace the school and it's luxury. Mekaila was a second year, so it might've looked strange to the naked eye he was showing me around.
"Soooo, Mekaila. Do you have any friends around here?" I nudged, knowing he wasn't much of a people person.
"Of course I do, and you know I have high standards so they are bound to be good." He smiled. "To start off their is Leilee, he's a second year like I am. He doesn't talk much and he's a n*gito Kinnie so he isn't very approachable. Then there is Zen. He's a third year and is by far the most popular idol that has been to this academy. I'm surprised he hasn't left to go somewhere more prestige." Mekaila said, looking a little proud. I smiled and motioned for him to continue. "Next there is Sophia-" I stop to take a laugh at such a feminine name for a guy. "Yeah yeah, I laughed too when I first heard his name. He's a first year, and he's pretty nice, except he can get angry easily. Other than that, he's probably the nicest one besides Zen out of us all. Lastly there is Nina. God, that guy can switch his moods like a light switch. I'd be careful what you say around him, but he's really a good guy." He said, as he continued to ramble on and on about his friend group. It was kinda cute to see him so happy and passionate about one group. He had always been so quiet when we were young, I'm glad he's finally out of his shell.
"Seems like an interesting group you have Mekaila, you gotta introduce them to me." I say with another slight pity laugh.
"We'll see." He paused. "Well, this is where your home room will be." After all this talking, I forgot we were actually going somewhere.
"Right....show me around later, yeah?" I ask, trying to seem confident but deep down he was the only one I would feel comfortable with.
"Yeah, sounds good." He smiles as he takes his leave.
Man has he grown up.
