A/N: Whatever is in italics is Sofia's memory.
It's the last day of school before Christmas, and everyone is ready to be done. We've all been on edge from the Sirius Black break in last week.
I sit in Potions, the last class of the week, bored. I finished the assignment, and the homework, and the homework from my other classes too. I've done all the work possible. My mind fades back to the events of last week as Snape drones on about the importance of...whatever we are supposed to be learning about.
I walk out of DADA, and speed off. The whole class Fred tried to talk to me, but I avoided him as best as I could.
As I walk down the hall, I feel someone grab my arm, and I turn around to look at Fred. He drops his arm from mine, and scratches his head. Is he...embarrassed?
"I'm really sorry Sofia. I didn't think the drink would spill."
"It's ok Fred, it wasn't on purpose. But why were you so jealous? Don't you know Ced and Delilah are dating?"
His cheeks burn bright red, as he mutters "I wasn't jealous. I've just always been the only guy in your life, other than George. It was weird seeing you with someone else."
Now it's mine turn to blush. I internally smack myself on the head. How could I be so stupid to think he would be jealous.
"Well Fred, news flash, you are never gonna be the only guy in my life. I'll always have other guy friends, though none can compare to you," I laugh, whispering the last part.
He laughs, and we turn the corner to the Gryffindor common room. A huge crowd stands outside the painting, and I see Dumbledore in the middle.
I can only hear bits of the conversation, but I find out from the other students that the fat lady went into hiding because she saw Sirius Black.
At the mention of his name I stiffen, freezing in place. Sirius Black, a murderer, has been here.
Fred, sensing my terror, reaches out for my hand and squeezes it to comfort me. I smile up at him, and he drops my hand for a moment to wrap me into a hug. His chin rests on the top of my head, and he whispers, "don't worry your pretty little head about a thing."
A stressful dinner goes by, full of Delilah and I bouncing off each other's fear about Sirius. Fred's hug comforted me for about an hour, until dinner with Delilah, who's stress level is even higher than mine.
The school demands we all sleep in the great hall for the night, and I walk in with my bag of things to do if I cannot sleep. I look around for someone, anyone I know, but I can't spot anyone, Sudddenly, I feel someone grab my bag from behind, and look to see George and Fred behind.
"What's in the bag Delilah? Drugs?" George jokes a bit too loudly, and I distance myself from them a bit, not wanting to be known as the 'girl who did drugs the night a literal murder broke into their school.'
"Oh will you shut up!" I exclaim, as we walk to a group of sleeping bags, "it's just the necessities."
I sit down on a sleeping bag, and already know I'm not going to get a wink of sleep. Fred must know it too, because he slides his sleeping bag a bit closer to mine.
I crawl into the bag, and try to get comfortable. It fails, of course, and I end up sprawled on the floor.
Fred's hand creeps on to mine, and he rubs his thumb on the back of my hand sweetly. Butterflies fill my stomach at the small touch, and even though I'm worried about Sirius the bit of affection calms me.
The lights turn off, and all whispering around me stops as people go to sleep. Fred pulls me over to him by my hand, and I curl into his chest. I can feel his breathing, as his chest rises and falls.
His arm wraps around me softly, and I can feel him press his lips to the top of my head. He whispers something, but I can't make out what he said so I decide not to worry about it.
The next morning, my eyes flutter open to snickers, Fred's breathing hitches for a moment as he wakes up too.
Maya, Jocelyn, and George stand over us laughing. Fred still has his arms wrapped around me from last night, and I'm curled up in a ball, my head resting on his chest.
I quickly stand up, and Fred follows suit, while the others laugh. "Get a room!" George laughs, and Fred jokingly slaps him on the arm.
I'm shaken from my memory as I hear chairs squeak as students get up. I pack my stuff quickly and run over to Ced and Delilah.
"Finally, we get a break!" Delilah cheers as Cedric wraps his arm around her. We walk down the hall, and towards the hufflepuff common room.
"Christmas here we come!"
Delilahs POV:
"I gotta go, I'm meeting up with some friends. I don't know if I'll see you again before break, so have a great holiday!" Cedric exclaims, and Sofia waves goodbye to him.
I cup his face and gives him a quick kiss. As I pull away, he smiles, and I drop my hands from his face. He turns to leave, and my smile droops. I turn towards Sofia, and she raises and eyebrow.
"I want to break up with him," I whisper, and Sofia chokes on air for a minute.
"Excuse me?" She replies, as we sit down on the couch.
"I really like him, but I don't think I like him like that. I don't want to hurt his feelings or ruin our friendship though."
"I get it. It's about to be break, just give it some time, think it over, and make a decision when we come back. But if you decide you do want to break up, than do it. It's no fun to be in a one sided relationship."
I nod my head, and Sofia walks up to our dorm to pack. Scrunching my eyes shut, I lean back onto the couch and take a deep breath.
What Sofia doesn't know is the real reason I want to end it with Cedric. I'm not for sure I really like guys, but I'm not ready to talk about that yet. I can barely come to terms with it myself.
Sofia is right though. If I don't like Cedric, I need to end it. So, I decide to think it over for the two week break, and end it when we get back to school.
A/N: Hey everyone. I am so, SO sorry for not updating. I've been super busy with things in my school and social life, and just haven't had the time. I'm getting back in the swing of writing, so expect more chapters over Christmas break! x
