Leo jumped from his seat next to no-one as he snapped his head back to see Snape strutting throughout the rows of seats. With a flick of Snape's wand, all the window shutters were closed as he walked to the front. Everyone watched without question as Snape pulled a lever, the board unrolling itself. "Turn to page 394." Snape drawled, everyone doing as told as Leo hesitated, confused. "Excuse me, sir. Where's Professor Lupin?" Leo asked as Snape stopped by his desk.

Leo gulped under Snape's gaze as he looked bored. "That's not really your concern, is it, Black?" Snape spat as he scanned the boy up and down, Leo stuttering. "I mean-" Leo started, scanning over the whole class as he felt the glares of a lot of his classmates, them all daring him to speak further. "Yep." Leo shrunk in his seat. "It isn't my concern. Sorry Professor." He mumbled, Snape not reacting as he walked to the back of the classroom, some people snickering as Harry gave the boy a small smile from the table with Ron next to Leo's single one.

"Suffice to say," Snape started, people taking their eyes off of Leo as they watched their Professor. "Your Professor finds himself incapable of presenting at this present moment." Snape finished, Leo's face scrunching up in confusion before he remembered the whole werewolf thing, nodding to himself. "Turn to page 394." Leo turned to the page without a word, jumping when he heard Ron yelp. Leo looked over to see the book rapidly turning to the correct page, Snape with his wand out.

"Werewolves?" Ron asked, Leo looking down to his book to see the whole page about them. "But sir," Leo jumped when he heard Hermione beside him. "We've just been learning about Red caps and Hinkypunks." She spoke, Leo speechless beside her as he looked to the table beside him, both Ron and Harry shrugging. "We're not to start nocturnal beasts for weeks." She finished, Snape not interested. "Quiet." He warned, Leo hearing Ron and Harry talk about Hermione.

"Oi," Leo started, hitting Hermione lightly. "What?" She asked, as if she'd been there the whole time. "You weren't here like 2 minutes ago, love." Leo spoke, Hermione's eyebrows scrunching up. "What do you mean? I was always here." She replied back, Leo's face scrunching up as he shook his head. "No, you weren't. I was sat here alone because no-one wanted to sit with the, and I quote, 'murder-aider'." Leo air-quoted his new nickname in the school, Hermione having no time to reply as Snape spoke up.

"Black, Granger, quiet." He warned again, Draco snickering from his seat next to Goyle. Leo stuck his tongue out at the blond before he leant back in his seat, scanning over the board as it flickered through different pictures. "Now, who can tell me the difference between an Animagus and a werewolf?" Snape asked, Leo's head snapping towards him at the first word, the Professor paying no attention to him. Leo glared at the man as he walked up, knowing that he was doing this to taunt Lupin even though he wasn't even here.

Hermione's hand shot up at the question none-the-less, Snape dramatically turning around as he scanned over the class. Leo's face scrunched up in confusion as Snape acted like Hermione wasn't right in front of him. "No-one? How disappointing." Snape drawled, Hermione sighing as she put her hand down. "Please, sir. An Animagus is a wizard who elects to turn into an animal. A werewolf has no choice. With each full moon, when he transforms, he no longer remembers who he is. He'd kill his best friend if he crossed his path. Furthermore, the werewolf only responds to his own kind."

Draco howled, Leo jumping as most of the class laughed at Leo, laughing with Draco however. "Thank you, Mr Malfoy." Snape spoke simply, Leo glaring at him as he turned to Hermione. "That's the second time you've spoken out of turn." Leo leant back, looking at Hermione as Snape walked to their desk. "Miss Granger, can you not restrain yourself or do you take pride in being an insufferable know-it-all?" Snape asked, Hermione looking anywhere but the man's eyes as Leo looked at the girl sympathetically.
