The resonance of the door slamming shut echoed inside Taehyung’s head more than it should have. His mind pressed, proving at how things were moving forward, just the way Taehyung feared.
He let out a heavy exhale and moved away from the counter to sit down. Taehyung opened his laptop to check articles because reading always calmed his nerves, but his own journals were left abandoned, holding no liveliness it usually holds.
Taehyung didn't let Jungkook get any clue of how internally frustrated he was. Actually, Jungkook was far too busy to notice all of that. Never in their relationship had Taehyung felt this alone, this cold from Jungkook’s absence.
The tears were his anger, his pain seeped in further when he read through his beautiful lines, carefully designed ideas, chuckling sarcastically how they all are going to the trash because Taehyung wanted to give up.
A mail popped up on his messy screen, stopping him.
Contrary to the situation, in the extreme opposite of his emotions Taehyung received an appointment letter to the international magazine he applied for.
The mails stated that the company found his ‘quirky ideas suitable for the job’, selecting him as their overseas digital writer.
Amidst the gloomy weather, a rush of fresh air in the beach is what it felt like for Kim Taehyung.
He read further into the mail as expected to join in a week, his eyes scanned through the calendar to then realise that the three days of lunar holidays were beginning tomorrow with Valentine’s day squeezed in between.
Suddenly Taehyung’s eyes lit up in surprise, cause not only would Jungkook get three days off but also, they could talk and spend Valentine’s day together, maybe even prepare a surprise for his Kookie.
Evening settled in quicker today with Taehyung busying himself with the paperwork for his brand-new job and making dinner.
Taehyung couldn’t wait to tell Jungkook, his earlier worries vanished. This was how Taehyung was, beautifully kind, ready to forget the sorrow, ready to be happy again.
Afterall, the promises he made to Jungkook were still freshened in his brain and he was ready to try everything again.

The monotonous shuffling against the door greeted Taehyung with an exhausted Jungkook, unable to even bend down to pull out from his shoes.
He tiredly removed them from his heels, throwing them away, moving to the sofa where Taehyung sat.
Jungkook leaned fully onto Taehyung’s body, resting his head on his boyfriend’s shoulder, eyes closing instantly.
"Are… Are you okay Kookie?" Taehyung asked hesitantly, his comforting arms wrapping around his frame with no delay.
