Mike rode his bike as fast as he could to Starcourt Mall. He saw Max, Lucas, and Will waiting by the bike racks and parked his bike quickly. Max saw Mike and rolled her eyes at him.
Max - "finally, let's go! we're gonna be late"
Mike - "sorry I lost track of time"
Lucas grabbed Max's hand and they all headed off to Scoops Ahoy to see Steve. Steve let them in the back and they rushed to the movie theater. Lucas and Max sat on the edge of the 3rd row and Mike and Will sat right behind them. The previews had already started and the lights were off. Will opened his backpack and passed soda and candy to Max and Lucas. Then Will turned to pass Mike a soda and their fingers slightly touched. Mike felt butterflies in his stomach and felt his face heat up. He was thankful for the dark atmosphere of the movie theater. It had been getting harder for Mike to hide his feelings towards Will. He was almost always a mess around Will; always staring at Will for too long or becoming extremely awkward. Mike noticed movement in the corner of his vision and turned towards Will who was pointing at Max and Lucas, who were throwing popcorn at each other. Will quietly laughed at the fighting couple and Mike couldn't help but smile at the sound.
At that moment Mike realized that he need to break up with El; he couldn't keep lying to her.
Mike just had to figure out how to break up with her without upsetting her; she did have telekinetic powers after all.
