To say I was nervous was an understatement. Why, because I was going to Carter's house that's why. After school Carter asked if I wanted to work on the project in a new environment and I said yes not knowing what I was getting myself into.
"You're going to be fine," Carter says for the 100th time. I have been to everyone's house in the squad except Carter. Last time I checked I hated him but now, not so much.
"Easy for you to say," I finally reply to him.
"You'll do great. I'm sure of it." I nod then look out the window.
All I could see were bushes and trees everywhere. I had never been to this part of town. We had been driving for almost an hour. How did Carter drive from here to school every day?
I asked him.
"Well, driving to school is faster. There are more shortcuts than back home." He answers and I nod again.
"Are we almost there yet?"
"Mmhm. Give it five more minutes." I smile satisfying at this.
Soon we pull up at this huge and beautiful driveway. I thought that was beautiful but at soon as I saw the house- I mean the mansion he was lives in I almost fainted.
It was painted white and gold and was complemented by flowers around it. It was huge and wide and I swear it could fit thousands of people.
"T-this is your house," I say breathlessly.
"Yep. C'mon." He says. He steps in but I still stand out there in shock. Once he realizes I wasn't beside him he turns around and smirks "What's wrong Kitty, do I have to invite you in?"
I fake a laugh at his vampire diaries reference "Very funny." I roll my eyes at him.
"So do I?" He asks again and this time I step inside.
"I'm not a vampire." I glare at him. I finally let it go and start to look around.
The inside was more beautiful and bigger than I could imagine from the outside. I could see up to five golden chandeliers and the floor was so spotless and shiny that I could see myself in it. The staircase, it looks it went on forever. Who really is Carter Reese?
"Carter is that you?" I hear a voice from a distance.
"Yeah. I would like you to meet someone." Carter says. This was it, I was finally going to meet Carter's mom.
A door opens and a woman walks in. She looked absolutely stunning as her brown hair flows down her neck. Her dress was definitely beautiful, it was simple but unique. She was more dressed up than me and she's just at home.
"Is this the Kate that you speak of so much?" She asks with a teasing smile.
Carter rolls his eyes at her and replies "Yes and I spoke of her moderately."
"Please, it was always Kate did this or Kate did that or did you know Kate is this." When she finished I gave a small laugh.
"By the way I'm Theresa." She brings out her hand to shake mine.
"I'm Kate as you already know," I say shaking her hand back.
"It's nice meeting you. You should stay for dinner." She pleads.
"I don't know. Are you sure?"
"Of course."
"Then okay." I smile at her and she smiles back.
"Good. I'll call you both when dinner's ready. Carter, do you mind showing her around?" Carter shakes his head. "Great, I'll be in the kitchen." She says smiles at me again and leaves.
