"By the way, Jackson's coming over this weekend," I announce to my friends toward the end of lunch. I kind of forgot to tell them after everything that was going on. There was still no sign of Kelly last night but I saw her in school earlier happily chatting away with Emily. I was happy that she was safe so I didn't try to talk to her. I take a look back to my friends to see how they felt about that but to my surprise, I see no hints of shock on their faces.

"You know he's our friend too right? He has a phone." Lee says.

"Oh right," I mumble and get back to my lunch. I wrap my jacket tighter around me. It was getting really cold since we were mid-way into October.

I take a bite of my sandwich as Carter says "What's wrong Kitty? You don't feel like sharing this time." He teases.

I glare at him. I still haven't forgiven him for that.

"Chill out, I just saying." He laughs and I punch his shoulder.

All of a sudden, in the crowd, I saw Kelly making her way toward her table. Somehow she caught me staring but she just ignores me and takes a seat on a table far away from mine. I look away. If Kelly wants to just leave without talking things through then fine.

"I'll see you later Lee." I hear a voice say. It was Kayla Stuart, Lee's partner, she was now walking away with some of her friends.

"What was that all about?" Liz asks as the bell rang.

Lee just shrugs "Just the project." He replies and finishes up his lunch.

The project. I knew I was forgetting something. It has been a week since Miss. Anderson assigned us with the project and I can say for a fact that I haven't started writing anything. I was starting to get worried. Even Mia and Caleb had started working on theirs.

Before the late bell could ring, we all head to our separate classes. I had Biology classes while the rest had something other than Biology.

I had finally finished a long lesson about biological molecules when I met up with the group. We all had English which was our last lesson for today so Carter, Caleb, Mia, Lee and I headed for our English class, and sadly Liz had to head alone for hers. It was kind of weird that both Carter and Liz came on the exact year but only one of them got into the class.

When we got in, Miss. Anderson wasn't there yet so I sigh in relief. I head toward my seat, I expect Mia to be beside me but to my surprise, it was Carter. I look behind me to see Mia in Carter's seat.

What the hell.

"You're so cute when you're confused." Carter laughs.

"What the hell. When did you and Mia make a switch?"

"During lunch." He answers but I couldn't remember when. "You were probably lost in your daydream which by the way I will pay a million dollars to know what is going on in that head of yours." He says in one breath while I wrap my head over everything he said.

I ignore his last comment as I ask "So, are you going to be my seat partner for now on, or is this just for today."

He smirks before saying "Why don't you wait to find out." He then winks and looks forward as Miss. Anderson makes her way to the front of the class.

I just sigh in frustration as we all greet Miss. Anderson.

"Hello, class. Let's get in today's class." She says. She sighs frustrated with her life as she turns around to write on the board.

Then I feel a kick on my chair. Carter freaking kicked my chair. I look up at glaring at him but he just chuckles. "So you're not even going to try and deny it."
