Part 5 🦋

Rachelles POV
Beatrice had just called me and told me to meet her at the tech room as she was helping the drama students with their rehearsals with Kalen and I didn't have anything better to do.
I walked up the stairs to the tech room clumsily opening the door an slamming it on someone
"Ow what the hell" said Lake half covering his face in pain
" you should really watch where your going uno" said Lake straightening himself.
"Sorry Lake Next time I'll knock yeah" I said tapping his shoulder as I shimmied past him.
I went to go greet Kalen and Beatrice leaving Lake by the door.I don't think he realised it was me from the look of his face.
"See Lake THATS why you don't stand behind doors" Kalen said laughing sharing the laugh with me and Beatrice
"Kae stop it's a wake up call really I'm just so clumsy would've happened sooner or later" I said still laughing.
In the corner of my eye I sawLake make his way over to the rest of us taking a seat by the control panel next to Beatrice. I looked around for somewhere for me to sit when Lake gestured towards him,getting up then pulling out a seat across for me.
"You didn't have to get up" I said softly not to disturb Kalen and Beatrice while they were working.
"Says the girl already sitting comfortably in the seat I pulled out " he said making me pause. We looked at each other
"Are my jokes  really that bad" said Lake blushing awkwardly
"Oh it was a joke my bad" Lake just laughed at me and gave me an AirPod
For the next 20 minutes we sat in the tech room not talking but enjoying each other's company through listening to music.
"Urm hey guys sorry to disturb this little date thing but can u get a box of extension leads and mics from storage" said Kalen intruding on our peacefulness.
Lake POV
"Yh that's totally fine cmon Lake" Rachelle said grabbing my hand. I pulled away softly hoping she wouldn't notice. She looked at me
disappointment clouding her gaze but swiftly turned around to walk out to get Kalens supplies.
I followed behind her slightly annoyed at myself for that stupid action.
She was probably thinking I didn't like her, or thought she disgusting or something.(which was definitely not true.)
She just reminded me of a love. A love that's taken me so long to stop crying about.A love that's pain still resides In my heart.My thoughts obviously took over ,as  I zoomed out of them we were already at the storage room. I opened the door and we both stepped in then Rachelle must of tripped on something as she fell into me pushing us against a wall. The door slammed shut
"Rachelle did you bring the key" I asked anxiously Rachelle still very close to me
"I don't like the dark but at least were here together, let's try find the light" she backed away from me when (ofc knowing her) she tripped but I caught her. My hand was right around her waist as I pulled her back up
" Thankyou I don't think I should look for the light anymore" she said calmly her breath stroking against my ear. My hand was still on her waist... I just couldn't take it off.
"I want to let go but your so clumsy I don't want you to get hurt" I said half telling the truth
Even though the room was submerged in darkness I could feel her direct stare. It hasn't been that long since the first time I stared into those eyes. So why did it feel that I've known her all my life why is there such an urge to break free form my confined ways why is there such an urge to be near her. I don't know but all I knew was I had to let go or someone was gonna get hurt. I let go of her dropping her on the floor.
"Well damn I must be heavy" she said in pain
"Omg sorry my bad" I said as I crouched down cautiously to help her. The door swung open and I saw Beatrice standing in the door way.
" If you want to get something done I guess you gotta do it yourself"
Beatrice said switching on the light, ignoring me crouched over Rachelle on the floor.
I helped Rachelle up finally
"I thought Kae wanted those" I said
"Well me and Kae are a team we work as one and he asked you to get those for me I have to set up the drama kids mics" Beatrice said frustrated
"Sorry Beatrice that we took so long you had to leave your alone time with Kalen "Rachelle said jocosely shimmying out of the room with me right behind her.Beatrice rolled her eyes ,and grabbed the box of mics and extension leads, motioning me over to come and lift one of the boxes. We went back to the tech room.
" well well well guess who's decided to join us" Kae said mockingly. Rachelle turned towards me sharing a delicate smile to me. I smiled back ,before turning around not wanting her to see what a sheer smile could do to me.
Rachelles POV
I don't think I imagined it.
That feeling shared between us. There was something there. But that's probably just me no one that beautiful has ever held me like that.
Overthinking.
Yes that's what it was. I grinned inwardly to myself, knowing full well I wasn't overthinking however I didn't want to explore the thought any further.
Lake POV
I sat near the corner of the room shaded by its slight darkness.I watched Beatrice Kalen and Rachelle, all laughing and enjoying each other's company. I watched Rachelle the most and the way her smile created a billion butterflies inside me.What i was feeling I felt before, but not to this extent not this early.I knew a heartbreak from this could end me completely.I had to make a decision.
To feed my temptation or keep my heart safe.
