Part 7 🦋

Rachelles POV
It was early a Saturday evening I hadn't done anything all day. I know it's bad of me, but schools been really taking a toll on me I'm not gonna lie to you. I already have like 6 assignments. But know I will not be doing them, well at least not right now.
I was lying in my bed staring at my phone aimlessly finding something to entertain me. What I needed was a change of scenery. So I picked myself up and dragged myself out of my room to the kitchen(for snack obviously) then plopped myself on the sofa.
As I lay the snack neatly beside me I already started to feel relaxed and renewed. I felt like it was going to be a good weekend.
"You get up. We're going out" Beatrice said excitedly
"Urm I don't know what you mean by we're...but have a nice time" I picked up the remote and turned on the tv.
Then Beatrice unplugged it.
I looked around confused as to what she thought she was doing.
"Cmon get up we're going to a PARTY,Kalen
invited us" she said joyfully pulling on my arm.
I really didn't want to go it's not cause I didn't like parties I was just so... relaxed. I looked up at Beatrice she had a pleasing look on her face. At this point she's made her mind up so I guess I was going to party.
"Fine but only if you let me wear those shoes of yours I like" I said cheekily
"Whatever let's get READY!" Beatrice exclaimed and she dragged me of the sofa to her room.
7pm
I've been waiting for over half an hour for Beatrice to finish getting ready. The snacks I left on the sofa were looking tasty... but I bloat easy and I didn't want to look pregnant at the party. Then again a girls gotta eat. I waltzed over to my snack and opened a packet of Pringles Munching them down 10 at a time.
I put the packet back down. While I'm waiting for Beatrice I rather just go brush my teeth again no one wants to smell sour cream and onion breath. While I was in the bathroom brushing my teeth I heard Beatrice sigh frustratedly.
"Wow Rachelle couldn't you have brushed your teeth earlier" I just looked at this girl and laughed. I spat out my last bit of toothpaste and rinsed my mouth out then headed out the bathroom. I saw Beatrice waiting by the door like I was the one holding us back. She was probably just excited to see Kalen he's never really seen her dressed up, so I guess it was an important day.
"Cmon let's go slow coach" I dragged Beatrice out of the apartment and down to the car park. I looked at Beatrice as she drove us to the party. I was thankful to have a friend like her,cause now that I was all dressed up I'm excited and ready for the party... and who knows what could happen.Maybe Lake may even start acting like he has sense.

Lakes POV
We've hardly been at school for a full semester yet Kalen knows everyone.And I mean everyone. Like I why am I seeing the student who graduated a year ago kissing someone in the corner of the kitchen? Even though I am friends with the majority of people here I'm surprised how a first year like Kae could've made all these friends.
But good on him cause with the amount of people here I knew it was gonna be a good night. And who knows maybe if I drink enough I'd be able to stay in the same room as Rachelle.
I grabbed one of those red party cups from the counter and fixed myself a drink. I haven't let loose in a while and I wasn't gonna take this night for granted. With my drink in my hand I moved into the living room. I found a comfortable spot in the corner of the room and relaxed into it. Although it was was loud and crowded it was a vibe and i was glad I took the time out to come here.
"KALEN"
I heard a loud energetic voice say. I turned around and noticed Beatrice hopping over to Kae. I really hope whatever happens between those two last. As I was thinking a familiar figure entered the room smiling and laughing at the reunion of her two friends.
Rachelle.
I won't lie to you she looked good and she knew it. That's what I liked about her she was confident in herself and didn't let anyone push her to the side. At the same time it was kind of a shame she was like that cause I was hoping after our little tiff she'd try make an effort. But it was all my fault that happened anyway and I guess you can't have your cake and eat it. I watched her as she made her way across the room to greet Kae.I knew she noticed me there was no doubt about it. Things were a little different now than the first time we met before she could stare into my eyes like she was hoping for something now she won't even take a glance at me. I know I wanted to put distance between us but this was too much. And it's not like it was working anyway. Somehow the majority of my thoughts were consumed by her... She was special to me and I didn't even know why maybe a part of did but the rest of me hadn't caught up yet. I wasn't going to let my night get ruined by me and my stupid feelings I was going to make up with her cause we shouldn't even be where we are in the first place.
Rachelles POV
"Hey" a soft voice said into my ear. I knew that voice and as happy as I was I was still confused about the way he's been acting towards me recently. I turned round to reply when Kalen decided to grab everyone's attention and announce something.
"Guys who's up for the classic...TRUTH OR DARE" everyone just looked at him and a slight frown grew in his face making me and Kalen chuckle.
"Seriously no one cmon it won't be a party without truth or dare"
Everyone just stared at him then resumed to go back to what they were doing.
"We'll play" said Amber and Toby in unison
Beatrice turned to me trying to see if I was up for it too i smiled at her agreeing.
"Me and Rachelle will play"
We all then looked to Lake. Rolling his eyes he also agreed a shy smiling lining his face.
"Ok we're good to gooooo, but as there's only a small group of us we rather just go up to my room and play" Kalen said before him Beatrice
Amber and Toby were making their way upstairs leaving me and Lake behind. I was about to walk off before I felt a slight tap on my shoulder I turned around.
"I know how I've been treating you recently hasn't been alright and I can't explain it. I just want to say sorry. I know we weren't close or anything but.. yh I'm sorry." I looked at him contemplating what I should do.
"Actions speak louder than words Lake but I feel like u are sorry we're just gonna have to see aren't we" I said lightly. I then grabbed his arm and dragged him upstairs.
I looked back at him and his face flushed Red. I knew I was confusing him slightly but I had missed him and I didn't want to build back from the start even though we hardly started. I just wanted to jump right back in like there was never any distance between us.
