Kalen then nudged my mysterious stranger urging him to introduce himself. He looked up awkwardly averting my gaze as he did so "Oh yeah sorry that was rude of me... My names park shit well I mean Lake ... Lake Park" I looked down a slight laugh escaping my lips at his cuteness
"Well nice to meet you Lake this is my friend Rachelle" Beatrice said confidently
"Oh Urm hi Rachelle"
So he finally mustered up the courage ?
I smiled at him he smiled back
Lakes POV
Kae and Beatrice got up to get some food leaving me and Rachelle alone.Hmm Rachelle it's a nice name reminds me of elegance somehow. I caught her staring at me kindness transmitting through her brown eyes. She turned away to her bag.
"I think you dropped this at the induction assembly" she said handing out with a gold item in her hand. I paused for a moment confused. I don't remember dropping anything... I took it from her timidly.
I accidentally dropped it on the lunch table as I went to pick it up I realised it was my locket.
I looked up at her thankfully.
"Thankyou I don't know what I would've done if I really lost this thing"
We sat in a slightly awkward silence, before she broke it.
"So what you listening to then?" she asked pointing at my AirPod inquisitively.
I stuttered confused by the question when I realised she was talking about my music .
How can a simple question from her completely throw me off.
"Oh I'm listening to so Beautiful by dpr Ian ,it's one of his best songs yet I think" I said happy at her interested stare.
" So he's pretty and has good taste in music...noted" she said ,an airy smile forming on her lips.
Did she really just say that out loud ?
I looked at her,slight embarrassment on my face I wanted to reply but from the look on my face it was a good enough reply to her.
Suddenly she reached out and grabbed my other AirPod placing it in her ear.
Hmm she's bold.
She nodded at me to unpause the song.
I did.
We mumbled the song to ourselves enjoying our unusual company.
"So beautiful"
We sang as we both looked up at each other ,a slight flicker ignited in my chest
"Urm R-Rachelle I have to go now" I said grabbing my bag and getting up ,she looked at me confused.
That feeling I felt... I knew it all too well. 
I gave her a reassuring smile to try and tell her it wasn't her it was me.
I rushed of but before I could get far she called out to me...
"Lake your AirPod" she got up and made  her way over to me then passed me the AirPod with hesitance. I shoulda just stayed but i know I had to get out. I said goodbye then made my way out of the cafeteria
Rachelles POV
"What an odd guy"I said as he walked away hurriedly.I was met with confused looks from both Kalen and Beatrice.
"Urm he said he had an assignment to finish off" I said as I sat down at my seat.It was only the first day so it was kinda a lame excuse to use as he probably didn't even have any assignments. It didn't matter though they bought the excuse and was back to munching on their food and chatting.
End of college day
It was finally the end of my fist day at college. It was weird yet fun.
It seemed Beatrice was having the time of her life having met Kalen,
Andd me...
To be honest I was just intrigued by my mysterious stranger Urm I mean Lake...
Me and Beatrice stopped off at our favourite chinese takeout before reaching  home.Beatrice opened the door to the apartment and placed the food on the coffee table and hurried to start getting some plates and forks and my pair of chopsticks.
We both sat down ready to dig in
"So that Lake kid you gonna tell me what happened or.."
Beatrice said knowing full well I was gonna tell her a little something something about why he just took off.
" He's the guy I was staring at in the assembly." I said calmly
Beatrice's eyes were wide with anticipation
"So he left cause he thought  you were a stalker" Beatrice stayed half jokingly
"No...well at least I don't think so we were listening to a song then after the chorus he just said he had to go all flustered and shit" I said confused, trying to figure out why he left for myself .
"What song was it may I ask ?" Beatrice said attentively
"So Beautiful dpr Ian.. Christian Yu.
You probably wouldn't know"
" I do damn well know that song" she said barging me playfully like she could sense something I couldn't .
"What ?" I asked her as she looked at me with a smirk
"No it's nothing let's just eat and enjoy the rest of the day u know we do have school again tomorrow" I glanced at her and we both sighed in unison then continued to enjoy our food.
