Chapter Eight

Jungkook stood by the kitchen doorway watching Jin and his son as Jin rocked him to sleep. After they arrived back at the house, Yu Mi requested to have cupcakes, which led to Jin making her cupcakes and then jello for her brother.

Recollecting Jungkook's earlier remark, he also made a small cake for Jungkook. To his surprise, Jungkook ate half of the cake; while Jin would admit it was not a big cake, it was also not a small enough cake for one person to eat half of it.

It became apparent why Yu Mi had a cupcake obsession because seemingly her father had a major sweet tooth.

After their dessert fest, Jin helped Yu Mi shower, and then Jungkook took over with putting her to bed as she loved it when her father sang to her before she slept.

When Jungkook went to put Yu Mi to bed, Jin intended to clean up the messy kitchen and then help Jungkook pack the kids' bag for the trip. However, Ye Jun changed that by waking up. Jin had gone to his room, trying to rock him back to sleep, but he wouldn't sleep and clung to Jin.

Once Jin held him in his arms, he laid his head on Jin's chest, wrapping his tiny arms around Jin's neck. Now, here Jin was moving around the kitchen with the little one hoping he would go back to bed soon.

"He likes you," Jungkook comments alerting Jin of his presence.

Jin looked in his direction, then looked down at Ye Jun, "you think so?"

"I know so. My son does not do that with anyone besides me. Not even my mom, and she's phenomenal with kids." Jungkook states, walking more into the kitchen, observing the mess the counters were in. Most of which his daughter was to be blamed for. She insisted on helping Jin with the baking, and Jin did not refuse her assistance.

Jin was amazed by hearing Jungkook's words, "well, I guess kids do like me. I never had a kid in my class that never liked me, so good to see my charms work with your kids as well." Walking over to Jungkook, he motioned for him to take Ye Jun, "mind putting him to bed? I want to finish up cleaning so we can pack their stuff, and I can get some rest; it's been a long day."

"No, you put him to bed; I will clean up here. It seems he will wake if I take him from you." Jungkook leans forward and kisses his son on his cheek and then proceeded over to the kitchen sink to clean up.

Leaving him in the kitchen, Jin goes to Ye Jun's room to make his second attempt to get him into bed. Ye Jun was asleep as when Jin laid him down, he snuggled into his pillow, letting out a small sigh. Jin smiled as he covered him with his blanket and wiped the sweat formed on his forehead away. Waiting for a while, he made sure he was fully asleep before leaving the room.

After leaving Ye Jun's room, he goes to Yu Mi to check on her. She asleep, hugging her teddy to her chest as she slept. Jin was pleased that she was sleeping and left her room, returning to the kitchen where Jungkook was.

"Need any help?" he offered to Jungkook.

Jungkook closed the dishwasher and turned to face Jin, "no, I am almost done here. I am running the dishwasher. I placed all the kid's things in the living room along with their suitcase. If you want, you can go ahead and get a head start with packing. I will be in soon."

Jin nods his head, understanding, and left the room. When he got to the living room, he plopped down into the sofa, groaning at how achy his feet were. It had been a long and unexpected day for him. It was certainly not how he planned for his weekend to go. Right now, he should have been with Yoongi, enjoying a late-night repeat of their morning, but instead, here he was working. Jungkook did make him know he would get a bonus for working today, which made him feel a lot better working on a Saturday.
