Awwwww- he has a smiley face at the end of my name! That's actually adorable.
"Pffttt, what's with the smiley face, ya softie!" I said, laughing to him.
"Ohhh, be quiet, you." he replied, taking his phone back. Pfft, wait is he blushing?
I unlocked my phone again, and looked at his contact again. Although we did exchange it in middleschool, there were only 2 messages. "Hey" and "hi".
"Mhm, I have your contact as well, I guess we don't have to worry about that.'' I said as I put my phone on the table. "Anyways, changing topics, how's your volleyball team going?"
"Hmm, it's been going pretty good, I guess. We're coming together pretty good." he said with a blank expression.
"That's cool! Maybe sometime I could stop by to see ya play, eh?"
"Oh- yeah. That'd be cool I guess." He said, seeming pretty proud of himself. I don't think I've actually seen him play, just heard things about it.
As I smiled to Kageyama, the waitress was already back, with a silver dish and drinks on top. Wow, that was actually pretty quick. She handed me a paper cup with a lid, containing the caramel latte that I ordered. Then she handed Kageyama a cold, glass cup that contained a pink liquid with a red and white straw. I forgot what he ordered, but it looked pretty cool.
"Oh, what did you order? I wasn't really listening, haha.." I asked him, placing my drink on the table. As I said that, the waitress walked away without looking back.
"Oh, it's strawberry milk. Have you ever tried it? " He replied to me, holding it.
"Actually, I've heard of it, but never tasted it myself. Is it good? " I asked. If he ordered it, it probably was pretty good.
"Oh umm, I guess it is, yeah...Wanna try it?" He asked,
"Sure," I responded. He slid the glass over to me, across the table. As I picked it up, it was pretty cold, unlike the latte I ordered. There was a little cup by the end of the table that contained straws, sweeteners, etc. I pulled out a straw and stuck it in. As soon as I tried it, it was super good!! Sweet, but just the right amount, woah! I've fallen in love with a drink!
As Kageyama looked at me, he started to laugh. "Looks like you enjoy it, am I right?" he asked with a smile creeping up on his face.
"Mhm!" I replied as I slid the drink back to him.
As the time passed, we talked about school and personal stuff. It was pretty good to catch up, since it seems like Kageyama really did change himself. When I spoke to him, he mostly just sipped his drink and nodded his head. I think, maybe, we might be closer than ever right now. I mean, sure, we used to hang out a lot. But I don't remember him being so...yknow, different.
"Hm, looks like we're almost finished. Should we head home?" I asked, looking at my drink that was 3/4 quarters empty.
As soon as he was going to answer me, the waitress came back, handing us a laminated sheet. It had a list of sweets and cakes with fancy names.
"Are you two interested in ordering one of today's specials? Feel free to tell me whenever!"
I looked over to Kageyama to ask, but he was already looking towards me. I didn't know what to say, but it looks like he was fine with it.
"Uhm, sure. What do you want, Kageyama?" I said, still looking over to him.
He turned his head down to the menu. "Uh, a slice of the chocolate truffle cake. We can share it." he said as he looked up to the waitress.
"Okay, I'll be back in a second!" she responded.
She came back quickly with a slice of chocolate cake, and placed it in out table. She then gave us each a fork. "Enjoy! Oh, and heres the bill," she added as she placed it on the right of the plate.
I picked up my fork and took the end of the slice. Ohmygosh, it's so good! It's so rich and full of flavor. I'm definitely coming back here sometime.
"So, how do you like it?" Tobio asked.
"It's sooooo good!" I responded, taking another bite. Before we knew it, we had both finished it.
Kageyama waved for the waitress to come back, and handed her the money. We got up and walked back to the entrance.
"So uhm, do you need me to walk you home?" he asked me, pulling out his umbrella.
"Oh, I think I know the way back. But uh, cya!" I said as I pulled out mine. I walked off and waved to him. Man, that was fun! It seemed like and hour passed. As I got home, I put my umbrella on the table by the the door and headed to my room.
Next Day, At School
"Hehe, hey (Y/N)!" Yuna said. She's one of the people I met recently in my class. She was really sweet, and had emerald green eyes with dark brown hair. Her hair was so smooth, and was usually in braids. Most of the time I saw her wearing small gold ring earrings and a fancy white sweater. Honestly, the first time I saw her, she made my confidence go down a but.
"Oh, hey Yuna. What's up?" I responded.
"I didn't know you walked to school. You should have told me! We live close by, haha!" she said in laughter.
"Oh, well how was I supposed to know that!"
"I dunno. Anyways, I been meaning to ask you something." She said as she calmed herself.
"Uuhhh, what? By the tone of your voice it doesn't sound good." I said, a bit worried. I could never predict what she was thinking.
"Got any crushes yet?" She said, holding in a laugh.
"Bahaha, wait, crushes? Pfftt, you dummy. I don't like anyone. Besides, I have to focus on my studies, and school work. Yknow, like, important stuff!"
"I mean, who said you couldn't do both?" she said, letting out a giggle.
"C'mon Yuna!! Get the point!! I don't like anyone!" I said, with a sassy tone. Who did she think she was trying to get me in a relationship?
"Aw, alright. But, what about that one tall, black haired, boy? I heard he's on the volleyball team. Haven't you two been hanging out a lot?"
I stopped and froze at what she had just said. Is she...serious? No, of course she's gotta be joking, aha....right?
"W-what? No way, he's an old friend! Why would you think-" I got cut off.
" Pfff, you're no fun (Y/N)! " She said "Anyways, I gotta meet someone before school. But hey if you think you've-"
"No way!" I cut her off.
"Mkay, cya (Y/N)!" She said as she waved and ran off.
This made me stop and thinking for a second. Hm, she really though we could've been a...yknow....couple? I mean..aha..he is...No way! I knew I was blushing, because I always turn into a tomato when someone mentions love. But like, does he feel this way too? Ugh, what am I saying? I should stop thinking about this before school.
