Sorry for the late update please vote and review! There's only one more chapter after this, wow time sure went by quickly. I may not be able to update the prequel and sequel as quickly but, I am planning on updating my short stories.

Officer John calls them from the police station two weeks later. When Alain tells the household, who's calling everyone goes to the phone to hear what the officer has to say.
"I would just like to inform you that the case is closed." The officer informs
"Wait you mean that you guys couldn't find out who killed the girl?" Rebecca questions
"Yes, that's what I mean, we couldn't find out who the perpetrator was we found a woman who claimed that she had lived there and she was interrogated but there was no evidence pointing towards the fact that she committed the crime."
"Wait why's she innocent didn't you find any DNA on the knife," Jacob asks
"No, we couldn't find a single trace of DNA on the knife."
"Why was there someone living in the house if the property owner lives in Germany?" Rebecca inquires
"The woman could have easily just been a homeless person who had been residing in the house because she had nowhere else to live." The officer answers
"Did you check to see if the owner of the property ever visited recently?" Tim asks
"Yes, we checked that already I'd also made sure to check to see if the owner had come here in the past decade and they haven't visited here in the past decade."
"Are you sure there was no DNA on the knife?" Jacob questions
"Yes, I'm positive that there was no DNA on the knife the person who committed the crime could have easily worn leather gloves."
"Your positive that it wasn't the woman?" the Rebecca queries
"The woman didn't know anything about the crime." The officer reassures
"Are you two done asking questions," Derik asks
Rebecca and Jacob both nod.
"Okay thank you for calling officer I apologize if we wasted too much of your time," Derik says
"None of you wasted any of my time and your welcome it was my pleasure."
