I am vaguely aware of what is going on around me. Yoongi has brought me to the hospital. I've had another X-ray, and have had a cast applied to my now fractured wrist. Right now a very gentle nurse is cleaning and closing my wounds with mainly paper stitches. The majority of those in my abdomen are proper stitches however. I don't even feel them being put in. I am numb. Thankfully they aren't too deep, and should not leave permanent scars. Well, not physical ones anyway.
She is speaking in a calm and steady tone, and smiles at me after every sentence. I know she is saying kind things but her actual words are lost on me. I know I am in shock. The rape has not caused this response, I have been through that many times. It is sad but true to say, that was just my 'normal' everyday experience! I am trying to come to terms with the fact that Shaun is finally gone from my life, no longer any threat to me or my kids. Also, having his lifeless face crash down onto me, bleeding from his mouth onto my face...... that was hard to see. I feel as if I should be happy that finally he can no longer hurt me or mine, but I actually feel sad. I'm sad that our lives together were not the happy times I expected when we married. I'm angry that Shaun preferred to torture me for 15 years, rather than divorce me and allow us to be happy with other people. 15 wasted years for us both! I could have had more kids with someone else. I could have been happy. He could never be happy, he was just a mean, controlling bully. I'm glad however that his current girlfriend has been saved a hellish life, I'm sure she would have suffered the same way I did. I suppose  the one blessing to come from this situation is that the child she is carrying will not have to grow up with Shaun as it's role model. I pray that genes have less influence on character than life experience. I hope she and her child can be happy.

The nurse has finished dressing my wounds, and is now helping me to dress in the clothes the policewoman brought for me.
As I step into the joggers and hoodie I realise they are the ones that I was wearing when I was first kidnapped. There is something in the pocket. When the nurse leaves the room to find Yoongi I check to see what it is.
It's my phone, and my door keys. The phone is still on! I thought Yoongi said he had these laundered after I was sick on them?
I look up as Yoongi taps gently on the door, then opens it just wide enough to poke his head through.
He looks terrible! He is drawn and pale, well, paler than usual. His hair is messy, as if he has been raking his fingers through it, this is secretly how I prefer him, his clothes are bloodstained and he has definitely been crying, his eyes bloodshot and the lids are swollen and heavy.
"Hi" he whispers, lingering stiffly in the doorway.
I smile and return his greeting.
He rushes forward and throws his arms around me as I flinch and suck in the little breath I can with broken ribs!
"Shit!! Shit, I'm so sorry, sorry!!" He backs off and raises his hands in apology, bowing repeatedly, as I hold my ribs. "I am happy so much you are safe! I so sorry for this! It all is my fault, I never should have left you! I never should ever have brought him here! Will you forgive me? Please say you will forgive me!?" he pleads. I think his panic has caused him to lose his grasp of English grammar, but I really do find his slight errors so endearing! I smile at him. I feel so lucky to have him in my life. I am sad that he is so affected by this though.

I respond to his last comments, "What are you talking about Yoongi? It was you who saved me from him! It's not your fault he is a....... was....... a monster! How could you know he would find your apartment, or know I was there? Wait, what do you mean 'shouldn't have brought him here'?" I query.
Yoongi pulls a plastic chair across the floor, the metal legs scraping the floor like nails on a chalk board! Ugh!
He places it next to me and sits down, leaning forward with his elbows on his knees. He takes my left hand in both of his and kisses my fingers, leaving his lips in place for a few seconds, his eyes tightly closed. He hangs his head and takes a deep breath, which he releases slowly as he looks up into my eyes. I wait quietly, not wanting to influence his words. I know he has to get something off of his chest. I don't want to rush him, I want him to choose his own words!
"As you know, I had Jag-eun following you before Shauns guys actually took you. We knew you were going to be kidnapped and taken to another location and held captive for a period of time, while Shaun set up his fake ransom scenario for the press and police. I thought we had planned our moves meticulously. I knew that it was likely we would not have long to save you before you were killed, so on my flight over that day we made our plans. When we arrived at your destination my team immediately moved to rescue you. Jag-eun and Jung Lee were both involved, each leading a team of 5. As soon as we made our plan we put it directly into action. My guys advised waiting until daylight but I wasn't prepared to wait. We somehow made it into the building undetected, and managed to subdue two guys pretty quickly, although one of Shauns goons did get a shot off which seriously wounded one of my guys....... he's ok now thankfully. We found you unconscious, covered in vomit in the corner of a small room.
We managed to overpower your guard pretty easily too...... Shaun obviously didn't pay very well, the men were useless. We called Shaun and told him that his 'job' was done, but he wanted proof, so we agreed to take your 'body' to him, which suited us as we wanted to collect your passport anyway. By the time we arrived he had already told your kids you were dead and told them to get out of the house.
He was very surprised to see me! I enjoyed that look on his face more than I should have done, and I decided to change up the plan. Fuck!! I wish I had just shot him there and then!!" He rages, veins in his neck bulging, tears forming in his eyes.
"In my wisdom I decided that I wanted to give him a taste of his own medicine, so we drugged him with the same thing his guys used on you and brought him along too. The kids were packing when we found them, and were relieved to be told you were ok. I had to take your son to see you as he didn't believe me without proof. He was shocked to see you in such a state, but happy you were alive.
I spent a couple of hours at your home, which is absolutely stunning by the way, explaining everything to your kids as best I could. It was difficult but I did have a guy with me who spoke fluent English and Korean, so he translated the complicated stuff. I told Shay and Bo that I was their half brother, but I didn't tell them who our father is as I felt that was your place, I didn't want to overstep. The kids were happy to be at home after I told them Shaun wasn't coming back home for at least a few days. I left security for keeping them safe"
I continue to listen without comment, mainly because I had no words, the thought of all this going on without me being aware both fascinating and terrifying me in equal measure!
