Continuation of Ayaan's pov.

Waking up is no longer the pleasure it was. There is a fleeting moment when I am whole again, but it evaporates faster than summer rain off the burnt earth.

My heart beats fast and there is a buzzing in my brain and together they are as panic with jump-leads. Only now my brain is as a flat battery, the exertions of the night being a marathon of erratic problem-solving. And so this day will pass as if I am hungover, not from drink, but from the nightmares that demand solutions.

I take a deep breath and get off the bed heading out of the room in search of ummi. "Ummi! Ummi!" I call out for her loudly as I walk around the house, my eyes gazing around each and every corner. Suddenly she appears from the kitchen rushing towards me.

"What's wrong son? Are you alright?" Touching my face in worry as she takes me to a chair and calms me down. My hands sweat in fear and in nervousness. What would her response be, how will she react?

I look at her with moist eyes as I pull out the papers handed over by Mr.Asad the previous night. She looked at me in an astonishment before setting her eyes on the paper, as if she was demanding an explanation before hand.

Having a feeling that she will definitely get angry, I point at the papers lying on the table asking her to read. She slowly picks them up and goes through the entire documents without blinking her eyes. Sweat trickled down my forehead as she continues looking on to it.

After a while, she looked up with a confusion. Nodding her head "what are these for and why is this man transfering a villa and half of the company shares to you?"
Her voice was a mixture of anger and uncertainty.

"Ummi, there is a lot going on and I haven't been able to tell you regarding any of it." Her face expression dropped suddenly. She looked like someone who had seen a ghost. Sweat trickled down her face as she held my hands and raising her eyebrows gesturing to go on.

"Ummi, I have been fired from where I used to work before. And everything that has occurred to me is because of ONE silly girl whom I helped." I explain to her the entire incident from the moment I arrived. The airport scene and furthermore till date.

"How could you not share any of these!!?" She seemed to be enraged with anger as she continues talking in a loud tone with wider looking eyes. "Am I dead, that you took this decision on your own and not thinking of telling me anything?" The chair screeches as she stands up pushing it away.

"Ummi, I'm sorry please. I didn't intend to hide anything from you, but never in my wildest dreams did I think that matters would get out of hands. I never wanted to worry you for no cause." Placing my palms on to her shoulders as I look into her furious looking eyes, calmly explaining the situation.

Shrugging her shoulders to get my hands off her, as she walks away into the kitchen. Moments later, she walks in with a cup of tea and placing it on to the table where I was seated. "With whatever you said." Seating right besides me as she continues pouring her thoughts. "I don't know what kind of people are they, I don't know if they are religious or not. Neither do I know if the girl is worth being your wife, but that is least of my worries. You will head over to the man who gave you the contract and name nothing to yourself. Whatever is his will be his even after his demise or after your separation. You are marrying his daughter and NOT his property. The rest I guess we will manage. I hope I am loud and clear. " Firmly stating herself, as she stands up and moves away.

A small smile plays on my lips, knowing that ummi wasn't harsh at all, and that she will understand my plea. Although personally I wasn't excited nor interested in the marriage, but it was a word I had given and it was something I would never turn my back upon.

After offering my Asr swalah, I get out of the house making my way towards Mr.Asad's place. My heart pounded as my hands feeling cold, not due to weather, but rather out of nervousness. Upon reaching my destination, I walk into the house and speak to Mr. Asad regarding the matter.

mr.asad was pleased as punch when he learnt about my part of the contract. Excitement could not be held within him any longer, as he pulls me into a tight bear crushing hug. "You have no idea how happy I am to have found a gem like you and your family. I could have not asked for more than what I've gotten." Smiling widely as he speaks with a glowing face.

His happiness knew no bounds. "Although I have one condition. You will move in with my daughter into a house given by me, you and your mother don't have the rights to refuse. It's an appreciation token."  He says.

"We will make this matter official,  next week come with your family to officially ask for  my daughter's hand in marriage. Till then it's my duty to convince her. I promise she will not let you  nor your parents down."  Stating his decision.

We finally come to an agreement and I walk out, heading home to inform ummi of  the matter.
