Hayes

"He just got on the boat," Kaylin looked down at her phone and looked up at me. I could see she was sad.

"You really love your dad huh?" I asked

"Yeah. I mean he hasn't been the best dad, but I do worry about him all the time. I know he'll be okay though but I mean I have a right to be concerned," she huffed and sat on the couch.

"Of course you do," I sat down next to her, "it's your dad of course you'd be concerned. Maybe this means something though."

"What do you mean?" I heard her voice turn into an annoyed tone.

"Maybe we have to go back to New York," I said under my breath. I was tired of hiding. I missed my family. I missed my old life. I couldn't take it anymore.

"We can't do that and you know that," she stood up quickly and went into the kitchen.

"Kaylin," I followed after her.

"No Hayes. You just don't understand," she shoved passed me and opened the door.

"Kaylin I swear if you disappear again," I gritted through my teeth.

Kaylin opened the door and was greeted by a face.

"K-Kareem?" she stuttered.

"Dad told me you were here," he shoved past her and approached me, "who's the white boy?"

"Kareem, that's my boyfriend Hayes. Hayes, this is my half-brother Kareem," she huffed.

"You never mentioned you had a half bro-"

"Yeah because she hates my guts," he cut me off.

"Can you blame me?" she hissed.

"I'm packing. Just because we half blood don't mean I can't blow your brains out," he gritted through his teeth.

"Try it. I fucking dare you," she stood up to him.

"Kaylin," I snapped, "can we talk in my room?"

"Sure," she closed the door and walked past Kareem, "you sit down and wait here and when I come back you better have an explanation for why you're here."
