** Told ya I'll update! \(^-^)/

"Uhm, yes, Ma'am?" I asked.
"Since you topped the junior year finals, I invite you and your family to a school function where you will be awarded with your scholarship. The letter will be sent to your house shortly. Okay, dear?" Ms. Isabella Dove said.
"Yes, Ma'am." I said.
"Oh and I wanted you to represent our school in the upcoming debating contest." Dove said.
Pfft. Does she even know who she talkin' to? My conscience said and laughed. Peyton isn't that bad with debates. My heart said. But she isn't perfect either. Said my brain.
"But-"
"Don't worry," Ms. Dove cut in, "I'll write it down for you, you'll just have to present it."
"Okay, Ma'am." I said.
"Good day, Ms. Krutz." She said.
"And to you, Ma'am." I smiled as she hung up.
When I turned around, Nick and Tyler were staring at me with the most serious expressions on their faces.
"What?" I asked making an awkward face.
"Who were you talking to?" Ty asked.
"Uhh.. my school headmistress?"
"Whoa." Nick said. "Are you in trouble or something, hun?"
I smiled. "No she was inviting me to a function where I'd get my scholarship."
Both of them blinked at me.
"Pfft haha. Nerd..." Ty teased as he threw a cushion at me making sure that I catch it.
Temme bout it. My conscience tsked. She's not a nerd!!! My heart protested. She did study a lot before the exams. My brain shrugged. I can't forget the midnight oil she made me burn. It added.
"I'm proud of you, sweetheart." Nick said as he came up to me and hugged me. I hugged back. "I know you are," I said, "Thank you." He kissed my forehead. "You're always welcome." He said.
"Love-nerds." Tyler said as Nick and I pulled away.
"Hey getting good grades doesn't always make you a nerd." Nick rolled his eyes.
"Yeah but topping junior year does." Tyler shrugged as he opened the fridge and took out an apple. "Like you did." And he took a big bite.
What? My conscience said.
What? My brain said.
What? My heart said.
"What?" I said. "Nick...did you..?"
"Yeah." He scratched the nape of his neck. "But that was long ago."
I showed him a lame face. "You're gonna be twenty this year." I said. "Besides, that line makes me think I'm dating someone very old." I shrugged.
Tyler laughed out loud and Nick chuckled. "At least he's rich." Tyler said.
"I'm not, my parents are." Nick corrected.
"Oh but you will be." Tyler said, taking another bite. "Don't forget to employ me in your company." He added with a wink.
Nick shook his head. "I'd rather hire Paul." He smirked.
"Dude! I ain't that bad!" Ty said.
"Yeah. You're worse." Nick shrugged.
I rolled my eyes. "Here we go again." And I turned around and started to get my things.
