Chapter Six

*Sophie's POV*

"Princess!" a boys voice yelled and I instantly knew who it was; as I turned round.

"Cupcake!" I shouted and flung my arms around him.

"Damon, I missed you so much!" I screamed into his gorgeous face.

Damon was my childhood best friend; basically before I met Maddie. He had brown hair and striking green eyes. Coincidentally, we lived right next door to each other and our parents were best friends.

He was also my first kiss which was quite embarrassing. It was a dare from one of my friends when I was 12.

We were all 17 now and it was our last year of high school.

"I missed you to Sophs!" Damon said.

"Wait, this is THE Sophie?" Cedric said, looking at me with wide eyes.

"Thats my girl" Damon said looking at me affectionately.

"Oh but I thought" Cedric said scrunching up his face; looking at Xander.

"You're dating this idiot?" Damon said disgusted. "What about the other dude?".

"Dylan?" I said curtly, "He cheated on me".

"Where is he so I can beat him up?".

I laughed Damon was like an older brother; always trying to protect me. "It's fine," I replied, "Xander hurt his poor little ego".

"Well you need a man to punch him not a sissy to hurt his feelings. Where is that man you may ask? Well..." Damon smirked and put his thumbs on his chest, "I'm that man".

Xander rolled my eyes and pulled me towards him and kissed me senselessly. I pulled apart breathless and put my fingers on my lips.

"Woah get a room!" Austin yelled.

"Lets let Damon and Sophs have a moment" Jay said pulling at Nick and Xander; who protested profusely.

"Where do I go?" Cedric asked tugging on his t-shirt awkwardly.

"Just follow them," I winked, "They don't bite!",

"Come on Princess," Damon said pulling on my arm and hooked it through mine; like we used to when we were younger.

Xander, Austin, Jay, Nick and Cedric all looked at me for my answer.

"Um okay," I looked at the boys and Cedric and mouthed, "Don't do anything stupid!".

"I can't promise that pumpkin!" Xander yelled back.

I grinned and turned back round to talk to Damon.

*Cedric's POV*

Wow Damon's description of Sophie was certainly not correct. I imagined a dorky kid not a beautiful looking teenager.

I thought she was pretty adorable and we had the same interests. I could see the look of jealously that flashed in Xander's eye. I smirked to myself, well I guess no one can have Sophie then.

It seemed like a lot of guys chased after her but from my knowledge (after talking to her for a while) she only had one boyfriend, which was Dylan and he cheated on her. Wait wasn't Xander her boyfriend? I remembered Damon saying Sophie was his.

"Hey Xander?" I asked as we sat on a couple of logs near a river. It was just us here and it was extremely quiet.

"Yeah".

"I thought Sophie was your girlfriend?".

"She is".

I rolled my eyes, thanks for the detail ... "How come Damon told me they were together".

His eyes flashed in anger and he grabbed my shoulders aggressively. Austin, Jay and Nick pulled him off me and he sat down.

"Wow you have some anger problems dude" I remarked.

"I don't like you" he retorted, folding his arms together.

"But I love you!" I said pretending to be a girl and clasped my arms up to my chest.

Nick snorted whilst Austin and Jay had an amused look on their face.

"Tell me about Damon" Xander demanded.

"I knew Damon from when he moved away from here, he came into my school and we became pretty good mates. He told me about this girl, Sophie and how they were going to be together when he moved back," I said bluntly, "Everyday he used to talk about her and reminisced about their childhood memories. It was pretty sickening hearing about her all day".

I laughed, "It was like I had met her already".

"Well why did Damon move away if he was 'infatuated' with Sophie?" Jay asked.

"His parents wanted a change but they were close friends with Sophie's parents" I replied slowly.

"And why did he come back after all this time?" Austin said confused.

"Because of Sophie. This was all for her".

*Xander's POV*

"Because of Sophie. This was all for her".

My face was scrunched up on confusion. So what I got from this story is this kid who is in love with my girl, ran away, came back and expected them to be together forever?

Wait my girl? Since when was she my girl? Since when you asked her to be your fake girlfriend you idiot!

"Xander?" Austin said.

"Huh?" I asked dazed.

"Hey, Xander and Sophie are coming back now" Nick said pointing to where Sophie and Damon were.

*Sophie's POV*

"Hey guys" I said grinning as I reached the boys and sat next to Xander, "I hope you didn't miss me too much!".

"No" Xander snorted.

I slapped his chest, "Liar".

"Am not".

"Are too".

"Not".

"Yes".

"But you love me".

"I really don't".

"It doesn't matter, you will in time".

"I won't".

I sighed tomorrow was a new school day but things are going to be different. Tomorrow will be the day that I will be announced as Xander's girlfriend to the whole school.
