After our little awkward bonding session, I pulled away and cleared my throat.

"Umm th-thank you for that" I said nervously and stood up quickly letting his hand fall onto the ground.

"Um yeah no problem" Xander said almost confused and pushed his hair through his fingers while standing up.

I took my phone out of my jean pocket and glanced at my phone to check myself out. Red crop top, high waisted jeans and black leather jacket ... looking ok for now.

As I smoothed down my hair with my fingers Xander's voice spoke up. "So are you done checking yourself out now?".

I blushed and put my phone back into the pocket. That was not embarrassing at all ...

I distinctly remembered the time Maddie had told me and I groaned out loud.

"I don't wanna go home," I said rubbing my temples, "My parents are literally going to skin me alive".

"It's fine you can crash at my place" Xander said.

I grinned and pouted at him, "Already eager to get me in bed?".

He rolled his eyes, "I'm the only one who can make those kind of comments". Now it was my turn to roll my eyes and I asked where his car was.

"It's at the back of the building" he said and lounged his arm on my shoulders.

"We're here" Xander said dramatically, getting out of the car and holding the front door open like a waiter.

"Are you sure your parents will be okay with this?" I asked unsure.

His eyes hardened and said without any emotion, "It will be fine; they're hardly ever here anyway".

Ouch it was clear I hit a soft spot, "Okay thanks" I smiled at him and his gaze softened.

"Come on the rooms are upstairs. Unless you don't trust me?" Xander grinned and waggled his eyebrows. This apparently was what girls found 'attractive' however I found it hilarious.

"So where are you sleeping?" I asked timidly as he led me to his room. I stood awkwardly and perched on the end of his bed.

"Here?" he said raising an eyebrow.

"Nuh uhh! I will stay here and you can sleep somewhere else" I said and put on a convincing face; nodding crazily.

"Relax Sophie, I'll sleep on the floor" he grabbed one of his T-shirts in his cupboard. "Here it'll be more comfortable".

I was touched at his consideration and started to walk out but Xander's voice stopped me, "Where are you going?".

"To go change?".

"You can change here you know".

I rolled my eyes and headed to the bathroom and that consideration was out of the door.

By the time I had changed, I wiped off my makeup with a damp towel and looked in the mirror. The T-shirt was quite big so it just touched my knees and my hair looked like it was attacked by a bear. I had kept my underwear on to save the weirdness of the situation.

Thankfully I saw a brush on the bathroom counter and I tugged it through my hair.

I carefully walked back to Xander's room and he was on the floor with a makeshift bed. I saw that he had cleaned up the room and I ran for the bed and jumped on.

Xander laughed, "What are you doing?".

"Running to the bed? I always do that in case someone attacked me" I said normally.
