Your POV

Me and the absolutely horrific pancake monster, known to most as Nora, were taking a "casual" jog around the entire school premises.

And by jog, I mean we're full on sprinting around the whole campus and we've been doing so for an hour and a half. It's a damn good thing I don't have bones, but I wonder how she does it? Could she be some super human? Er, super-er human?

Nora: "Alright, we're done! Since it's a holiday today, wanna go out for some pancakes?"

"Sure, I've got nothing better to do. I suppose I can pay for our meal."

Nora: "Really?! THANK YOU!"
She crushes me in one of her hugs. Well, attempts to.

"Uh huh." She let's me go, and I notice how during the whole sweat-fest (that only she participated in, cuz I'm amazing), her shirt was drenched. I saw a bit of something I probably shouldn't have, and I turn away. "We should get you washed up and changed though. I don't wanna see your big milk jugs in my face the whole time." She turns to me with an awkward smile, yet a hearty laugh.

Nora: "Oh, uh, my bad!" She books it towards her room, and I laugh.

I look out to the sun and pale blue sky, feeling the breeze in my hair and skin. It's cool, and feels just right. "Why are 9 A.M.'s so pretty? And why specifically 9 A.M.?" I just shrug and I change into something a bit less formal. I wear the usual pants and ankle-booties (for MEN), but I wear a normal, basic white t-shirt and an unzipped black hoodie with red cuffs. I see Nora come back wearing something less heavy.

Nora: "Hey! How'd you get changed so fast?"

"I could say the same to you. You look good at least."

Nora: "Thanks! Now let's go already! I'm hungry!"

She drags me into a bullhead and we head to Downtown Vale. As we walk, I notice just how calm and peaceful everything is. Nature's going on strong, people are commuting as normal, kids are laughing. Humanity seems at peace...

It's sad that they don't know a war's going on in secret and that they're all being lied to.

We go into a cafe and she orders, and I quote, "As many pancakes as you possibly can make". Man, she's a nut for this food. I wonder why though? We sit down and we wait for her order, as she raps her fingers along the table while humming a cheery tune.

"So, Nora, why do you eat so many pancakes?"

Nora: "Huh? Oh, that...well, me and Ren have been on the streets when we were kids. The village we both lived at was overrun with Grimm. As we traveled, we were both starved and could barely walk. Then this nice man gave us some pancakes once, gave us somewhere safe to sleep for a night, then we went on our way the next morning. Best sleep I had in years! And I...I guess I've been addicted to them ever since! Is that weird?"
