Broken Grace chapter twenty-two

-Unstable verse Nightmare's Castle-

Horror carefully packed the last of the books in the library into a chest and that into an item box they had scavenged from DustTale.  "Hey Killer do you think Cobalt has a plan for when we get wherever we are going?"

"You know him, he has always got a plan or knows how to make Nightmare's plans happen."  Killer picked up the item box.  "You could just ask him."

Following him with the last of the item boxes from the library Horror nodded of course he could ask.  "I just don't want to be a bother, he has been skipping his naps again."

Killer winced, "Dust is not going to be happy about that."

Horror grunted as they stacked the boxes in the hallway, "I am going to check on Scream." They walked down stairs headed for the kitchen only to meet up with Scream coming up to get them.

"Captain Cobalt has missions for us!" Screech beamed at them loving being in the royal guard.

"Of course he does bro because you're the coolest!" Horror grinned at Scream as he laughed.

Killer watches them with a half smile. "I think you may be right for once your bro is remarkably kind, adaptable and resilient. He might be the best Papyrus."

Horror turned a cold red eye light on him. "Stick to stocking the ball of sunshine."

Killer laughed holding up his hands in surrender.  "Chill Horror you know I respect you both too much to do anything."

Watching them Scream just sighed and picked up his Sans. "We are not keeping Captain Cobalt waiting."

Killer laughed even harder as he followed them to Cobalt's office.

-Cobalt's Office-

When they walked into the office the jokes stopped. Dust was talking softly to Cobalt trying to get him to rest. "Please love just for half an hour you don't even have to sleep just rest your eyelights."

"Okay, okay you win but only after I give the guys their assignments." Cobalt throws his hands in the air with a sigh then smiles at Dust. "I demand snuggles if I have to rest."

Unfortunately Scream cleared his throat to get their attention before Killer could record any fluff. "Guardsmen Scream reporting for duty with sentries Killer and Horror!"

Cobalt smiled up at Scream, "I have a very important mission for you Guardsmen.  I need you and Horror to invite FarmTale Sans #6 here. I must talk to him, don't accept no but don't let your brother get in a fight."

With a salute Scream walked out still caring Horror and telling him how exciting this was.

"So what do you need me for?" Killer leaned against the wall by the doorframe.

"Take this to Dream." Cobalt threw what looked like a bean bag with a tree embroidered on it at Killer.

Catching it easily he looked at it oddly.  "This feels like a mix of the bosses magic and Dreams."

"It should, I found it when I was packing Nightmare's things.  It is filled with the seeds of the tree of feelings that Nightmare extracted from himself. Be sure to tell him that.  He should know what to do." Cobalt watched as Killer's sockets widened then he nodded.

-Stable verse-

It took thirty minutes for everyone to get ready to leave mostly because they had to clean the bathroom and calm down from Nightmare's little display of why you don't fucking mess with anyone who is his.
