-Unstable verse OuterTale #0-
Cobalt hummed happily as he skipped around checking things off his list as they brought them through the portal from the Castle. All the Sanses had changed their minds about coming with but the Gaster team had decided to stick with on the condition they all signed up as godparents.
It was just as the last of the boxes came through and the portal closed that Garnet ran up pantin. "DUNCLE COBALT! INTRUDERS!"
"Report to youR dad, tell him, code Promise Keeper." Sighs Cobalt summoned a blaster and climbed on it standing on it while it heading in the direction Garnet came from he soon spotted Stretch, Inky, Dream, Classic, and Outer.
By the time he stood between them the staging area alarm bells were ringing and his people running either to stand ready by the portal generator or to protect those gathered there. Dust ran to stand with Cobalt as did Cross and Scream.
Dream actually flinched back from the spike in negativity from a gathering that just moments before had been bubbling with nervous excitement and hope. "C-Cobalt... cannot we talk about this...?"
"Bro please don't do this, we are fixing things, it is safe to stay." Stretch held out a trembling hand pleading.
Outer just looked past them at where Horror stood protectively close to a Sans in overalls and straw hat with a Papyrus and two human children. Outer looked away.
Inky folded his arms, he had more or less insisted on coming along with this last minute attempt to stop what was left of Nightmare's people and the ones Cobalt had gathered from leaving. "He is alive isn't he? That is your portal target. Error survived the fall."
Everyone but Classic turned to look at Inky who hadn't taken his eyelights off Cobalt. Cobalt shrugged, "Error is immortal but as faR as this Multiverse he is dead there is no return."
Looking away Classic nods. "You should at least say goodbye when the anger fades, you don't want to have regrets."
There is a soft rumble and a vortex-like portal opened near the cliff Killer and one Gaster going through immediately followed by two more with a herd of children and a Papyrus in jeans and a orange flannel shirt. After that hands and blasters started pulling carts of item boxes and supplies through the portal.
After a moment with a slight nod Cobalt waves Stretch and Dream off to the side. "Fine, a short taLk but I am busy. I have people to take cAre of and I promised Dusty I will taKe a nap after this."
Inky glared at the portal knowing even if he made it through the portal he didn't stand a chance of dragging Error back. "Damn it now how am I supposed to get him to come back?"
Classic facepalmed wondering when Inky lost his filter. "You're not Inky, he more than earned his freedom."
Dream shook his head wondering how he followed such an idiot for so long. "Cobalt if... if Nightmare made it please tell him I am sorry I failed him. That I hurt him. Thank him for me and please tell him I still love him and wish him well." Dream sniffed and wiped his sockets. "Cobalt please be careful out there too." He grabbed Cobalt in a quick hug before letting him go and running away crying.
Kneeling down Stretch sighed. "I failed you didn't I Sans. I should have just listened to you. I love you bro and if this is really what you are set on doing I know there is no stopping you. But just don't die okay there are no more rests for you."
Cobalt grabbed him by the shirt and jerked him into a hug. "Take care of yourselF and move a copy, Sans up from an AU that has to be destroYed so you don't glitch. I still love you. I will proBably forgive you someday. But I need to mOve on with my life." Cobalt let him go and walked back over to his team.
