"Voting starts at two in the main building. Cost is two dollars, but it's all donated to our school's cancer research program! Come help us find a cure!"

The sophomore puts the microphone down and hops off the bleachers.

"You gonna vote for one of the losers?" Nick asks Destiny.

"Huh? What do you mean?"

"Well, you can't vote for yourself, after all." He grins.

"Oh stop." She rolls her eyes.

"I'm voting for Reagan." She smiles.

"What? Oh hell no." Reagan's eye's widen.

"You're gorgeous." Destiny frowns.

"I mean, yeah, but I will not go on a date with my best friend. Ew."

"Hey!"

"Sorry, babe. We're just not meant to be." Reagan grins and kisses Kendall's cheek, making him glare.

"S'true. If it was me, I wouldn't go out with Reagan." Nick laughs.

"And why the hell not?" Reagan crosses her arms and raises a challenging brow.

"We're like, brother and sister, Rea. It would be totally weird." Nick holds his hands up in surrender.

"That's true... But I'm still hot as f-"

"Okay! We've got innocent ears here!" Kendall holds his hands on a glaring Destiny's ears.

"I'm not that innocent."

Kendall, Reagan, and Nick all share a look.

"Hey! I'm really not!"

"Oh yeah? You a virgin?" Reagan smirks.

Destiny's ears turn red, and she huffs.

"Yes..."

"With those looks? How?" Nick's confused eyes make Destiny roll hers.

"I'm not a slut, Nicolas."

"I know that! I mean, I-"

"Just stop, you idiot." Reagan laughs. "He means how is it that you're so gorgeous and you have an equally beautiful personality, and someone hasn't-"

"Tapped that." Nick finishes, earning smacks from both Rea and Destiny.

"Ouch, I meant it in the nicest way possible... Sheesh."

"Sure you did." Kendall rolls his eyes.

"I di- Ouch! Again?" He asks a laughing Reagan.

"You deserved it." She shrugs.

"Ugh, women..."

"You better shu-"

"Alright! Let's go to Nick's and my apartment and chill until voting, yeah?" Kendall intervenes.

"Yes, Denton, I'm with my friends."

"Calm down! They're cool! Do you know Kendall Bradford?"

"Jesus, that was a little harsh, don't you think?"

"I'm hanging up, asshole."

Kendall felt bad that he was eavesdropping, but he couldn't help it. And what was Denton saying about him that was so bad that his own sister called him an asshole and hung up on him?

"Hey sorry, that was Denton." She rolls her eyes.

"Hm. I think we should get going if we want to beat the crowd for voting?" Kendall offers.

"Good idea." Nick agrees.

"Just let me grab my phone." Reagan says, before dashing into the bathroom where she left her phone and charger.

"Ready?" Kendall asks before they head to his car.

"I think voting's pretty pointless considering." Nick says from the passenger seat.

"Considering what?" Destiny asks.

"Um, only that you and Ken Doll over here are gonna win regardless." Nick scoffs.

"A little jealous, are we?" Reagan smirks.

"Jealous? What the hell? Nah, I'll stick to girls at the bar." Nick scoffs again.

Reagan rolls her eyes as Kendall laughs.

"We're here."

"Just write the names of the girl and guy that you want to win, in neat handwriting, and drop them here." The same sophomore from earlier explained to the crowd.

A chorus of "Yeah, yeah" 's were the signal to start.

Kendall headed over to a more secluded table and picked up a slip of paper just as another boy walked up next to him.

"Hey, man." Kendall greeted before actually seeing who it was.

"Don't "Hey, man" me, you douche." Denton Edwards spits at him.

"Gee, sorry man. I don't know what I did to you but..."

Denton turned to properly face him and glared with such hatred that Kendall almost took a step back.

"You and I both know very well that you're going to win this, and my sister is bound to win, too. If you lay one wrongly placed finger on her, I swear to g-"

"Yeah, yeah. You'll beat me to a pulp. Let's skip the traditional shit, and actually act civil? I'm not as bad as you think." Kendall rolls his eyes.

"You little sh-"

"I'm Kendall Bradford, junior. I'm in your Psych class. I don't like playing sports much, but I do like to watch football. Nice to meet you."

Denton was obviously surprised by this, as he stood dumbfounded for a good twenty seconds.

He clears his throat, and begins.

"Denton Edwards, junior also. I didn't know that. And I play football, quarter back specifically. I like to watch it too, but playing it is better. Nice, uh, to meet you too."

Kendall smiles hugely and claps his hand on Denton's back.

"Between you and me, I'm not really interested in your sister. Or anyone, for that matter."

Again, Kendall has managed to shock Denton into silence.

"See you later, man." Kendall says when he's written Nick and Reagan's names down and dropped them in the box.

"Yeah, see you." Denton scratches the back of his neck.

"I see you and my brother are now well acquainted." Destiny laughs.

"Yeah. I kind of heard you arguing with him on the phone about me, and I wanted to give a good impression..."

"Aw, you wanted to impress my brother?" She coos and messes up his hair.

"Just so I don't get beat up because I pull your chair out for you next Friday." Kendall retorts.

"Oh? Is that all?" Destiny smirks.

"Is what all?" Nick asks, joining them with Reagan.

"Pretty boy over here tried to sweet talk my brother." Destiny says.

"Is that so? That's so unlike you, Kendall. I'm ashamed." Nick shakes his head.

"Screw yourselves." Kendall says but then laughs.

"The votes will be counted later today; the lucky couple will be announced tomorrow morning at eight in the atrium!"

"What are your favorite flowers, just so Kenny bear knows for next Friday." Nick elbows him and grins.

Destiny smiles too and answers.

"Pink Tulips."
