A Date With Destiny (boyxboy)

1 - New Girl

"Dude look at the new chick."

"Damn, who is she?"

"She's got a lot going for her, that's for sure."

This is all you could hear swirling around Eckhart College on a brisk December afternoon.

Well, that and the sweet sound of an approaching winter break.

"Did you see the new girl? She's got you written all over her, Kendall." Nick whistles.

"I don't know.... what's so special about this one?" Kendall replies in a bored tone.

"Well for one, she's new. She's also got a huge rack."

Reagan, the group's bad girl, smacks Nick upside the head.

"What the hell?"

"You just degraded a perfectly pretty girl, all for the sake of sounding cool."

"Gee, sorry Rea." Nick rubs his head.

She smirks triumphantly and turns to Kendall.

"What, you're not gonna go taste the new item on the menu?"

"That's a new one." Nick mutters, earning another whack.

"So?"

"Nah, I don't see why she's so special anyway."

His friends stare at him for a long time.

"Is that you?" Nick asks.

"Uh-"

"Kendall, I don't know what's gotten into you, but I like it." Reagan grins.

"Man, if you're not gonna pursue her, I am."

"When's voting for 'most desirable male'?" Kendall changes the topic swiftly.

"I think it's on Saturday."

"That's only 2 days away, man. You ready? Who do you think the girl is gonna be?"

"My money's on the new girl." Reagan adds.

"I agree." Kendall sighs.

"Let's go say hi to your potential date, shall we?" Nick smirks.

"No, Nick-"

But Nick just grabs him and Reagan and they begin walking towards a lost-looking new girl.

"Hey, I'm Reagan." She smiles. "What's your name?"

"Oh, hi! I'm Destiny. I'm uh, new here." She holds her hand out.

All three of them shake it.

"They call me Nick, but you can call me any time." Nick winks and Reagan stifles a laugh.

Destiny just shakes her head and says, "Charming."

"Kendall."

Destiny turns toward him with a smile.

"I've been here for two hours and I've heard more about you than anyone or anything else on this campus."

Kendall shifts uncomfortably.

"What kinds of things?" Reagan asks with slight accusation in her voice.

"Well, and I'm not gonna beat around the bush here, they said you're a bigot, a jackass, and a player, but you have a really attractive face. I agree with the last one, not sure about the others, though."

Kendall is totally taken aback by the bluntly stated remarks, but smirks slightly when she said she agreed with his "attractive face".

"Damn." Nick whistles.
