Chapter Seven

The following day Khun was fidgety and restless, constantly watching the clock waiting for the agreed time to come. There were a few times throughout the day he was tempted to message Bam but he was worried about seeming too eager. Luckily for him, Bam messaged first under the pretense that he was checking they were still okay for that nights stream.

The two had already made their announcements on social media and were expecting to have a good viewer base join them. They exchanged friendly messages for the rest of the day, talking about anything and everything until the time came for them to set up stream.

After messing about with his PC, Khun put on his headset and joined Bam in a voice chat.

"Hey Khun! All ready to go?"

"As ready as I'll ever be, I guess."

Khun had downloaded a free to play Battle Royale game in preparation for that nights stream, he hadn't played one before and was very apprehensive as he didn't think he would like it.

"Haha, just give it a chance and I'm sure you'll love it. Do you need me to explain how to play?"

"No it's fine, I've watched enough of your video's and streams to get the general idea of what I'm supposed to do - basically we drop somewhere on a map, collect weapons and then fight until our team is the only one left, we're playing duo's so it's just the two of us in a team and one hundred players in total, oh and we also need to watch out for the circle that gets smaller because we'll die if we are outside it for too long. So I only need to get to grips with the controls and it'll be fine."

"Hmmm? You've been watching my vids? That makes me happy. You'll get the hang of the controls quickly so don't worry about it."

Khun blushed and was glad that the stream hadn't yet started so no one could see his reaction. The two continued to set up their streams and the countdown soon came to an end. They introduced their stream to the viewers and explained that Khun was new to this.

"So, this is the first time A.A has played this game, in fact it's the first time he has played Battle Royale games at all so be nice to him guys!"

"I don't know what I'm doing, I'm just going to run from the circle and shoot anyone I see."

"That's basically all you have to do. We'll be fine! It'll be fun! Ready to go?"

Giving the thumbs up the two headed into their first game. Khun tried to familiarise himself with the controls but knew it would probably take a game or two for him to get used to them. With Bam being the experienced one, he led the game.

"So we're going to drop over here, just get into the first building you see and get some weapons and ammo. We can deal with the rest later."

Khun messed about with the controls trying to figure out how to pin locations on the map, he eventually gave up as Bam's avatar jumped from the plane and went hurtling towards the map. Khun followed Bam's lead and jumped from the plane.

"Looks like we have a couple of groups landing with us, be careful."

"Got it!"

They landed on a building and both went running as fast as they could to pick up some gear.

"Got someone in the building to the North."

Khun was still picking up items as Bam gave him location information.

"Got him!"

Having still to find a gun that wasn't a pistol, Bam had already taken out the person on the other team.

"They're only downed so we need to look out for their friend who will probably go pick them up."

"Oh, I can hear footsteps!"
