There was a ring, just sitting on the bookstore table. It was not a cheap ring when looking at it the girl working the cashier thought to herself. It was made of gold and silver bands of metal tied and interlaced together with a medium-sized ruby linking it all together. The girl was thinking about all of this as she picked up the ring, she was the only one there. All the other workers left her to close up. It was about 9 at night in New York, NY. She picked it up and then put it in her pocket, she would give it to the manager and they could decide what to do with it tomorrow. So she closed and lock the door and started to walk home. As she got home she petted her cat Lucifer and put the ring on the table and went to bed. But as she was sleeping Lucifer hooped up on the table and started to play with the ring. It fell off the table and fell and rolled a bit tell it was right outside the door. The cat, no longer having its toy went to sleep. But that morning another person living in the apartment building accidentally kicked the ring. It rolled right down an air shaft in the floor and got stuck. Until later that week a work came on a semi-annual check for the vents and the ring, now covered in dust hooked to the cuff of his pants and as he walked out of the apartment it fell. Another Person came up and picked up the ring, examining it closely. They put it in their pocket and walked home. Another lost thing in the world had been found.
