Better Together Part 4

Mourning

When she woke up from her sleep, CC saw that she was laying next to Glace and his tail was protectively around her body. She sat up and looked around. Looking to her side, she saw the stones at her side. There were now only six she had to keep up with. She picked them up and smiled happily knowing she had done what she needed. "Glace! I did it! Can you believe it? I can finally save my home!" CC cheered as she went towards the dragon's face. But she noticed he didn't wake up, she freaked out. "Glace? Glace! Glace, can you hear me?" she cried, nudging his side. After a couple of minutes, she knew the truth... Glace was dead.

Even though she didn't know him enough, she felt like she lost someone important and teared up. She sat there for a minute, nuzzled at his side, and lit her wings on fire. The dragon's huge body was still but she saw his outer spike barely move from the draft. Thanks for everything... I wish you could've seen the outside world. "You would've loved it... the sun shines on your face. The sky is a beautiful blue... the grass is green... no one would've hurt you. I'd make sure of it." CC said aloud to the dead dragon. She had one last moment of respect for the mighty dragon and pulled something out of her backpack. She had a rose pin that she had always had and put it next to Glace's chin.

"May it bring you happiness and guide you to your ancestors." CC sighed as she wiped away tears. Once she recovered from that, CC packed her items into the bag. She held the stones tightly in her hand and looked up at the top of the cave. "I'm coming for you. You better watch out Wildcats... our fight isn't close to being over." CC snapped and twirled the stones around. With the power inside of them, she used them to break open the cave all around her and she continued to fly as she smashed holes into the place. With one final blast, she broke out of the Academy and looked all around her.

She smelled smoke and other sweet smells in the air and knew she had to keep going. I'm coming for you. CC promised and flew faster than the speed of light to rescue her home, her pack, and everything else in the world. She destroyed everything in her way while racing to get to her friends. As she flew away from the Academy, she didn't see that a certain someone was now getting out of the rubble.

Paige was lifting the crumbled rock off of her and brushed herself off. She held her arm tight and looked to see CC flying off to the main Academy lands. "I gotta go help her!" Paige gasped. She looked around but of course, she didn't find anything that could help her get anywhere. Her wing was busted and it'd take forever by foot. How am I supposed to get over there? Then she saw the reindeer.
