Sofia Snape's POV

Rubbing my eyes drowsily, I slowly dragged myself over to the marble counters to pour myself a cup of green tea. Looking out the windows, it was still dark. I had been up all night studying for my finals.

"I want you out of that filthy school, Sofia." My father's stern voice made me jump. He had been sitting, newspaper in hand, watching my every move.

He's been begging me to switch over to Hogwarts after my countless encounters at the dean's. Beauxbatons had always been exciting- all the drama made it even better, but I was forced to wear blue silk. Green is much more flattering.

He felt "we should be closer." I never knew my mom, but her dying wish was for me to stay as far away from you know who as possible. My dad had recently become a death eater, so that's definitely not possible anymore.

I turned, facing him as I put my mug to my lips and blew over the tea, in an attempt to make it cooler. Sighing heavily enough for him to hear my frustration, "Dad, we've had this conversation hundreds of times. We both know how it ends." Rolling my eyes, I began spreading cream cheese over my bagel.

"I've already signed the paperwork, you're coming to Hogwarts."

"WHAT?" My bagel fell onto the cold stone floor as I felt like my entire body had gone numb. My voice had risen unintentionally, so I took a deep breath and continued. "Y-you can't just do that. What about mom? What's wrong with you?"

"ENOUGH. That school is ruining you along with everything I've worked for. You're getting into altercations left and right. You've honestly become a disappointment, Sofia. I've had enough, constantly saving you from getting expelled. You've lost control."

A dreadful silence filled the air, masking my guilt. Disappointment?

"I'm the disappointment? You became A DEATH EATER, even after you promised mo-"

"Today's your first day." He pushed back his chair and stood up, furiously taking in the last sip of his coffee. "Be ready by seven. And clean up your mess."

My mouth rested open, shocked. I slammed my mug on the counter and ran to get ready in the ten minute window I had left, accepting defeat.

I pulled a green crew neck over my head, and ran my fingers through my hair, in an attempt to look somewhat presentable. I rushed trying to do my makeup, all while thinking how weird it was going to be having my dad teach me. Should I call him Mr. Snape Or is it Professor? Suddenly, a rush of anxiety completely took over as I slipped my shoes on. It had just hit me. New school, new people, and a completely new set of classes. I was excited to meet the famous Potter my father always complained about.

Walking down the stairs, I was greeted by my same old frustrated father. You're a disappointment, Sofia. I never understood why he was always so hard on me.

He put out his arm, signalling for me to get ready to apparate. Sighing, I grabbed a hold of his hand and pinched my eyes shut. Apparating was always awful, but I eventually grew used to the nauseating feeling.

The spinning abruptly stopped, and I opened my eyes to a hectic convoy. Nine and three quarters, I've heard of this place before. Only wizards could access it. Looking around, I encountered many wizards- some much shorter than me and others too tall for my gaze to reach their eyes.

"I'll meet you at Hogwarts. Stay safe, Sof." He used to call me that when I was younger, when life was much easier. But before I could respond, he apparated away.

I turned around, grabbing my trunks and walked into the extensive, red trains. All the seats had already been filled, so I continued scanning the area trying to find at least one booth to sit at. Everyone was staring at me, whispering, with faces of shock plastered on their faces. My anxiety had begun heightening as it felt like I was very unwelcome. It felt like walking in the middle of thousands of cliques- and there's not one that I fit into.
