Sofia Snape's POV

I was awoken by loud, consistent banging on the door. I immediately jumped out of my brief slumber, and looked over at Ophelia. She, too, seemed confused.

"Stay here, I'll get it." She drew herself back from me, unwrapping her arms in the process and headed straight towards the door. "Who is it?" She asked with evident annoyance in her voice as she was desperate to go back to sleep. It had only been half an hour since all the chaos. There was a long and unbearable silence, pushing the two of us over the edge.

"Adrian. Is Sofia there?" We both finally exhaled the breath we were holding onto. She looked over to me, trying to figure out whether or not to lie to him. But it's Adrian. He fought his best friend for me. Why would I lie to him?

I got up from my cozy bed, and slowly walked over to the door. I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down rather than let my mind wander about everything that had happened tonight. Not to mention, my hangover was kicking in- my head throbbing.

I placed my cold hands on the door handle and slowly twisted it open. Our eyes met and for a brief second, we just stood there- staring at the hurt in each other's eyes.

But he rushed over, wrapping me in his embrace. I placed my arms around him, pulling him in even closer. I could feel his heartbeat on the surface of my chest quickly increase as his breathing became louder.

"I'm so sorry, Sofia. I shouldn't have left you." I cupped his head with both of my hands, and pushed him out of my embrace. I held his head inches away from mine, and observed the look of dismay plastered on his gentle face.

"It's not your fault. Please don't blame yourself, Adrian."

"B-but, it is. If I didn't leave you, Parkinson wouldn't have even tried laying her hands on yo-"

"No, no. There's nothing you could've done. It already happened."

I tried to constantly reassure him, but it seemed like he felt too guilty. He pretended to accept what I kept telling him, but his eyes spoke differently. I glanced over at Ophelia, and she was motioning for me to join her. I turned to Adrian, "Give me a second" and pushed myself up from the bed. My legs were shaking as I didn't have the sufficient energy to properly support me upright. I slowly dragged myself over to Ophelia, eager to know what she wanted.

"I'm going to Oliver's, tell Adrian he can stay over. He seems shaken up. I-"

"Wait who's Oliver? Ohh Oliver Woods. He's the guy you were about to shag at the party, wasn't he." My voice was rising as I playfully nudged her arm.

"Shhh.." She was giggling, and blushing uncontrollably. She definitely liked him and I loved seeing her like this.

"Okay, you have fun and be careful not to get caught-it's past curfew."

"I will, don't worry." She gave me a quick hug, and ushered out the room.

Before she closed the door, I yelled "And don't forget to use protection!" She slammed the door, and I could still hear her giggles slowly fade as she walked further from our room. I glanced over at Adrian, laughing at me. I walked back over to him, and sat down. He was deeply focused on my eyes, but I switched my sight over to his cheek. It was a mix of pink and purple as bruises covered his face. I slowly reached over to touch them as he let out a soft wince.
