Soooo, remember that one time when you were all super confused because it seemed like you skipped a chapter? Well, welcome to the chapter.
Enjoy.
I still have to edit some stuff, sorry in advance for any typos you might find ;))
2 years and a half before...
"Wait! So you two haven't talked about it?" Sophie exclaimed, startling me so much I almost spilled my latte as I was drinking.
"Jeez!" I complained, wiping the coffee from my chin.
"Melissa!"
It had almost been a whole week since the Comets premiere. Since Martin and I shared our little spur of the moment lust experience. Of course, Sophie had been the first (and only) to know about it. I was hoping she'd understand it was nothing more than a simple explosion from all the sexual tension that we had been holding during the filming months. However, she took it way too seriously, over the top. At least, in my opinion.
"What?" I shrugged.
"Oh, um, nothing?" She snapped. "You practically broke the law!"
"I did not! We didn't have sex, for god's sake! Besides, I'm seventeen!" I rolled my eyes.
"But he's not." She started, her voice dead serious. "And he holds a position of trust. You could have had sex! He wanted you and you know it!"
"Yeah, and I would be lying if I said I didn't want him too."
Sophie crossed her arms disapprovingly, leaving her untouched cappuccino on the table in front of her for what felt like the umpteenth time.
"I must have a word with Mr.Freeman."
"No, you must not. I can handle this," I shook my head at her.
"You can handle this?" She repeated. "You can handle this?"
"I'm dating Jeremy. You know that." I pointed out. "Everything's fine. Martin was just a... slip."
"Honestly, Mel. What have you become?" She sighed.
I can't deny her words hurt a little. However, I had thought about my actions, my mind was clear. I knew what I had to do. I knew what was good for me, and I knew what wasn't. Martin wasn't.
I was seventeen years old.
Martin wasn't good for me. How could he possibly be?
"Oh, but you love me, Soph," I chuckled.
After this, she finally took a sip of her coffee, her face cringed slightly. I bet it was already ice cold.
"Plus, it would be weird to lose my virginity to some guy who could be my father, right?" I laughed.
"Right..." She muttered. But she didn't laugh.
"I'm so happy, Jer! That's great news! We should celebrate!" I shrieked into my phone as I was walking home from the coffee shop.
