"I'm confused, I really am." I told Jeremy as we both sat in front of my computer.

"It's been two years, for god's sake." He muttered under his breath, his voice low and husky. "Let me see."

Jeremy grabbed the laptop from the coffee table and placed it on top of his lap. We were sitting on the couch at his brand new apartment in Notting Hill. We had been staring at the e-mail on the screen for more than five minutes now.

From: Grace Ropper

To: Melissa Johnson

Subject: Black Panther 2

"Dear Melissa, I have been told to contact you. There's an open call for the new Marvel movie Black Panther 2 and you've been selected to participate. More information has been forwarded to your agent.

Greetings,

Grace Ropper - Talent Agent based in London."

"I swear, I don't get it." I repeated for the umpteenth time, my eyes fixed on the screen.

"Has Pearl called?"

"No she hasn't, you've been with me the whole time!" I whined, still a bit nervous about the recent news.

"You won't go, will you?" He asked me, it sounded more like an affirmation, though.

I shrugged. "Jer, I don't know. It's quite the big deal."

"I know, it's the Marvel fucking Universe. But you can't dive into that."

I furrowed my eyebrows. "Why not? It's an opportunity, I can't just throw away an opportunity like this!"

"It's Black Panther 2. YOU KNOW WHAT THAT IMPLIES!" He yelled shutting the laptop harshly. I jumped a little in my seat.

Jeremy and I barely fight.

"JEREMY! Stop acting stupid! It's work, that's all it is!" I answered back with the same tone.

He crossed his arms openly showing his disconformity.

"You know I love you. But you and him are simply incompatible, and neither of you can see that. I can't lose you again. Hell, you can't lose yourself again!"

"Jeremy that was a long time ago, jesus. I'm with you now. I love you too. I lost my virginity to you, not to him. You just can't see that, can you?"

"I don't care about that, you still slept with him."

"JEREMY, FOR GOD'S SAKE! We always go back to this, do you realize?" I rose from my seat and covered my face with my hands. I couldn't believe it. Once again, we were back to fighting about this. We only fought over this, and it drove me crazy. I knew it had been my fault. If I just had been able to control myself, Jeremy and I would be living the good life without unnecessary dramas such as this one. "We're together for a reason, aren't we? You said you'd forget about it!"

"I said I forgave you. I can forgive. Forget? Not so sure." He muttered, his gaze fixed on the floor. "So you love me, huh?"

"Of course I do, Jer! You know that!" I sat down next to him once again and placed my hand on his knee. He placed the laptop back on the table and then rested his hand on top of mine. His touch was warm, inviting. I loved him. For the past two years, he had been home.

When Martin finally wrote him the letter of recommendation Jeremy didn't even get to read all the job offers he received. He got a fine job at an important british casting agency, he moved into a new place. He bought a BMW, a golden retriever... and my heart. Just kidding! I didn't care about the money, after all, I started dating him before the sudden cash explosion.
