They stared at me in awe as I walked into the living room in my royal blue graduation gown and hat. My dream come true.
"Look at you..." Mum dabbed her eyes with a white hankerchief, causing mine to fill with tears as I giggled.
"Stop..." I said.
"Come here." She opened her arms and I ran into them. We pulled away, and I walked to Dad.
"Won't you say anything?" I asked with a teary laughter, standing before him.
He sighed. "I love your kimono." A few tears fell out of my eyes as I laughed harder, and then we hugged each other.
"I'm proud of you," he said.
"I know you are," I replied.
"Okay." He let go, holding onto my shoulders. "We don't want to be late on your special day."
"Yes," I said, cleaning my eyes as we all started to head out. "Wait, I forgot my bag." I turned around to get it.
"It's with me," Mel spoke up. I stopped and turned back again. She managed to hold the bag which pulled on her weight, up. We all laughed.

"I can't believe this is happening." Mum rested her chin on her locked hands, looking pretty in the elegant dress she got for my big day. I stood smiling in my ceremonial wear, and she was close to ruining her makeup with tears.
Gabriel moved half-way behind her and held her shoulders. "Congratulations," he said to me with sadness in his eyes because he wasn't a part of the success.
I took a deep breath. "Thanks, Dad," I let out, hoping it'd make him feel better.
His eyes widened as Mum's jaw dropped. They gave each other a quick glance, and then they focused on me.
"It's actually my first time calling you that." My voice was shaky, and Mum's sigh came with a chuckle.
He let go of her. "May I?" His arms were open for a hug.
I laughed. "Of course."
We hugged for the first time and it felt great. Mum joined us, and I made space for two.

"Wow..." Mum whispered when Anita and I came out, blinking her lashes. I didn't see the big deal in something so expected. She was never the emotional type, and seeing her become one was weird.
"My babies..." She cooed as she approached us with opened arms. She wrapped us both in a hug. Anita laughed, returning the gesture. I stood stiff, waiting for it to be over. Anita hit me on the back and I placed an arm around her. We finally pulled away, with Mum throwing me a knowing look which I laughed over.
"Dad." Anita ran to him.
He chuckled as they both hugged each other. "I'm so proud of you." He wore a suit to compliment Mum's over the top outfit, who appeared like one who got an invite to a wedding in England.
"And you too," Dad said to me when Anita moved away, giving Steven a fist bump. "I hope one day you can say the same about me." He brought their attention to us, and I surprised them all by giving him a hug. It was the most I could do after the statement he made.
