Chapter Thirteen, Losing Hope

~Momoko's P.O.V~
"Man I can't believe you gotta have that fake blood in your mouth so much. How do you handle it? I thought I was gonna puke", Butch said. "The kind I use is different. It's edible so it doesn't taste to bad", I said. "Why didn't I get edible kind?", Butch asked. "Because you was only supposed to put it on your neck", Brick said as he smiled and rolled his eyes. "Hey that stuff is messy!", Butch said. "Nice job on crying on the spot Kaoru", I said. "Eh it wasn't to hard", Kaoru said. "I thought I was gonna lose it when boomer had the broom", Brick said as he laughed. "I can't believe they gave him a line", Asuna said. "Well actually they told me to wing it so I figured that would of been funny to say", Boomer said as he laughed. We all laughed at boomer making him blush. "It must be fun being hooked up to those harness things and being pulled around", Miyako said. "I love it! It reminds me of flying", I said. "What if it snaps and you fall?", Butch asked as he picked up a donut from the snack table. "I trust my team", I said. Suddenly Anna came over in a huff. She seemed stressed but I wasn't sure why. She quickly grabbed a cup and the coffee pot and started to pour her coffee. "Hey you okay?", Brick asked as he gave Anna a concerned look. "I'm fine just a little upset", Anna said. "Why?", I asked as I put my hand on her shoulder. "They're replacing me!", Anna said. "What!?", I practically yelled, "they can't do that! I don't want another make up artist!". "No not you. I'm still yours and Brick's.. just not asuna's anymore", Anna said. "Why?!", I asked. "They think it will be more efficient to have another artist working on the main three", Anna said. "Aw asuna is gonna be so upset", I said. "Right. It's my favorite time of the day getting to do your guys make up", Anna said. "At least you still have us", Brick said as he gave her a reassuring smile. "So uh Anna I don't think you've met my friends. This is Kaoru and her fiancé Butch. Then there's Miyako and her fiancé boomer", I said as I gestured to my friends. "Butch and boomer are my brothers", Brick said. "Nice to meet you all. You guys are the puffs and ruffs right?", Anna asked. "Yep that's us", boomer said. "You guys are so awesome. Momoko talks about you all the time", Anna said. "All good things though right?", Kaoru asked. "Of course!", Anna said. "What? I miss you guys!", I said. "So uh I seen you guys on tv fighting a villain? I've never seen them before", Anna said. "Unfortunately neither have we. They are new so we don't know they're purpose for hating us", Brick said. "Hmm... probably professor Harold", Anna joked as she smirked at me. "Told you he could be a villain", I said as I laughed. "I hate that guy", Brick said. "Who?", Miyako asked. "He's our professor at college. He's a real asshole", I said. "Think it could be him?", Kaoru asked. "No he's a retired actor. I don't think he has any super powers", I said. "Hey Anna your needed on set three", a voice called. "Alright I'm coming. I'll see you guys later", Anna said as she started to walk away. How are we going to figure out who the new mystery villain is? What if after our friends leave we won't be able to fight them off ourselves? I can't let Brick get hurt... and I can't get pregnant with the villains around... Brick will need my help and I can't fight if I'm pregnant. I couldn't risk hurting our baby. I guess this means we will have to wait...

We had just gotten home and Brick and I was in our room getting ready to change out of our clothes and into our comfortable pajamas we usually wear around the house. Our friends was all downstairs. Miyako and Boomer was doing something work related on their laptop and Kaoru and Butch was fighting over which sports game to watch. "Man those two get so loud when they fight", Brick said as he chuckled. "Yeah", I said. "You okay?", Brick asked as he walked over to me and cupped my face in his hands making me look up at him. His beautiful crimson eyes looked full of worry. "I'm fine. I'm just a little stressed out with the new villains. It's just like the punks and tuffs all over again but this time we don't know who they are or why they want to kill us", I said. "Momoko, everything will be okay. I promise I'll do everything in my power to defeat them", brick said. "I know.. I will too", I said. Brick slowly leaned down and softly kissed my forehead making me smile. "Ahh now there's that smile that I love", brick said as he smiled. "You can always make me smile Brick", I said. "Good!", Brick said as he let my face go and started to tickle my sides making me laugh. "Brick stop it!", I said as I laughed and tried to push brick away but instead I stumbled and started to fall backwards. I'm a panic I tried to grab Brick to steady myself but he lost his footing and we both fell backwards onto the bed. We both laid side by side staring at each other laughing. "Your so beautiful love", brick was as he pushed my hair out of my face. Brick slowly pressed his lips to mine kissing me. I put my hand on the side of his face as I kissed him back. It's crazy how he can make all my fear and stress melt away as if it was never there in the first place. Our lips began moving in sync as our kiss began to heat up. I could feel my heart start to beat faster as Brick pulled me closer to him. Brick slowly started to put his hands up the back of my shirt. "Hmm Brick wait", I said breathlessly against his lips. "What's wrong", brick asked. "We need to talk about something", I said as I sat up. "Uhm okay?", Brick said as he sat up too. "Brick we have to wait", I said. "Wait for what?", Brick asked. "To have a baby...", I said. "What? Why!?", Brick asked. "Because of the new villains. I can't get pregnant right now. Our friends won't be here to help us all the time. It will be just us... if I'm pregnant then I can't help and it will be on you and I can't let you fight them alone", I said. Brick looked down at his feet as he frowned. His facial expression was hard to read. It was a mix of anger and sadness but also of understanding. "I hate to say it but I think your right", Brick said. "I'm so sorry", I said. "No no Momoko this isn't your fault! Don't think that! I love you no matter what. We're a team and that means we will get through everything together even if it's hard we will always push through", Brick said as he grabbed my hand. "Butch is gonna be so disappointed", I said. "Ah he'll get over it. I'm sure he'll understand why we decided to wait", Brick said.  "I just can't believe this is happening. Our lives was perfect and everything was falling into place", I said. "Momoko as long as we're heroes we will always have a villain to fight", Brick said softly. "Once we're back in Japan... maybe it will be time to hang up the belt and live normal lives..", I said sadly. "You wanna give up?", Brick asked. "I just don't see how we can have a family and be parents when we're heroes. What if another big villain comes and we can't stop them and we die. Our kid would have no parents.. or the villain could go after them just because of who they're parents are", I said. "Your not wrong.. maybe it is best.. I wonder what our friends will think", Brick said. "Miya and Boom will probably think it's smart. Kaoru and Butch will probably think we're crazy", I said. "I'm sure they will give up being heroes too once the time comes", Brick said. "You know when I was a kid.. I wanted to be a hero so bad. I wanted to be a hero my whole life but... now I'm an adult. I want a family of my own. I want to be a wife! A mother! And I guess as a kid I had never realized that some day I'd be willing to leave everything behind for my family.. but I'm gonna let so many people down", I said as tears filled my eyes. "Momo it's okay. You became a hero so so young. Most kids worry about what they are gonna wear to school the next day but not you.. you had to worry about fighting him. A literal devil! You spent your whole life protecting everyone but now that your an adult and ready to quit. They owe you that. Now it's there turn to support you in your time of need. The professor, mayor, ms. Bellum, our fans, the city.. they knew this day would come", Brick said as he wiped a tear from my face. "I'm just going to miss it", I said. "Hey you guys coming out any time soon love birds?", Butch called as he knocked on the door. "Yeah", Brick said as he stood up and walked over to the door and opened it. Butch looked in and frowned as he seen me crying. "What did you do Brick!?", Butch said as he shot Brick a death glare. "I didn't do anything!", Brick said. "We was just talking", I said. "Ah I see. Probably about black star right?", Butch asked. "Yes and no", Brick said. "What then?", Butch asked. "Well.. we decided that we have to wait.. to have a baby", I said. "What why?", Butch asked. "Because we can't fight off black star when she's pregnant. It will be just me fighting", Brick said. "You have us", Butch said. "Your only here for a few days", I said. "Well then I guess that means we have to stop them before we go home then doesn't it", Butch said as he smirked. "How are we going to do that?", Brick asked. "I don't know but we will figure it out.. we always do", Butch said as he gave me a reassuring smile. "Your willing to help us? What if you get hurt and it messes up your sports schedule", Brick asked. "Look I don't care... You two are my family.. your ready to start your own family and I'm excited for you okay. I know this isn't something you'd think I'd say but.. I would do any thing for you two, Miya and boom.. kaoru", Butch said. "Aw Butch", I said as I stood up and pulled Butch into a tight hug. "Alright alright... if we're going to do this we're going to need a plan", Butch said as he chuckled. "What do you have in mind?", I asked as I pulled away from him. "Thank you", Brick said as he put his hand on Butch's shoulder. "Well it's gotta be a group effort", Butch said. "Okay", Brick said as he nodded his head. "Let's all go down stairs and plan this out okay?", Butch said as he turned and waved at us to follow him as he walked out of the room. Do we have a chance at figuring out who and why this villain showed up? Can we defeat them in just the few short days we have? I don't know if it can be done...
